Salvador Delahada
After Overlord Hope Naharis retired her title, the Baron's Council convened and came to an agreement on having the new Overlord decided by holding a round robin tournament. With one Barony vacant, all seven other Barons participated in a one night marathon and at the end of the night, Sal came out with the best record by winning five of his six matches, and became the 121st Overlord of the Duel of Swords.(Details)
Sal's first challenge came from Amaris Silhaeven, who was the recipient of the Overlord Challenge Grant from the Summer All Ranks Tournament. This grant, being a test free grant, saved Anya all sorts of headaches, which she was grateful for! Sal, being Sal (who else would he be?), gave the choice of format to Amaris, who decided on a Best of Three. The first match saw Amaris come out with the lead, but by the fifth round, Sal had tied it up at three. It would take another six rounds, but in the end, Sal won the first one, 5-3 in 11. The second match started with a trade, then Sal took the lead and never gave it up, ending it 5-3 in 7.(Details)
Sal's next challenge came by way of newcomer Jackson! Jackson, who was Loyal, suddenly went Renegade and challenged. Why? Well, I know, but I've been asked to keep hush hush. Though there is rumor that Jackson just enjoys getting stabbed. He finds it relaxing (his words!). Sal, of course, wasn't pleased by all this, even if he does enjoy stabbing people, and tested. Giving liberty to the crowd, Mira Burke stepped up (with fire in her eyes, mind you. She has it out for Jackson, and I'm not telling you why either!) to do the testing. Before the question be asked, Renegade Baron Hope stepped into the Arena and decided she was Mira's huckleberry. And so, Mira and Hope went at it! Mira quickly took the lead, but Hope soon tied it up. They then proceeded to beat at each other until Hope finally stabbed through a slash, winning 5-4 in 10. That opened the way to Jackson getting his relaxation stabs from Sal... and did he. Sal proceeded to make sure that Jackson got all the relaxation he needed, winning it 5-2 in 8! (Details)
