Duel of Swords
DoS Histories
Anubis Karos
When Anubis Karos challenged the sixty-fourth Overlord of the Duel of Swords, Rena Cronin, the odds, if not popular sentiment, were on his side. Anubis made good on those bets in his favor with a strong two match showing. With a five to three victory in nine rounds, followed by a five to two victory in ten rounds, Anubis cleared the path to becoming the Arena's sixty-fifth Overlord.
Anubis' first and only challenge proved to be a bloody one. When the winner of the winter 2005 Warlord tournament stepped forward, Anubis was more than ready to meet him in a violent manner. Tareth Thorn and Anubis had no love lost for each other, and that showed during the challenge. The first two matches were lopsided affairs. The Overlord claimed the first one five to two in seven rounds, but was nearly matched stroke for stroke in the second when Tareth won five to two and a half in nine rounds.
The final match was as hard fought and bloody as anyone in attendance could hope for. In ten rounds, both duelers were able to upset small leads until Tareth pulled out the sudden death victory by cutting down Anbuis as he attempted to step away. The five to four score was evidence enough that the match was bloody.
