Karen Wilder
During a time when few challenges involved bad blood, the bitter notice of challenge which Karen Wilder posted to the boards brought the match a great deal of attention. The Warlady was disgusted by the Overlord's connections with Shakira and vowed that she would destroy him. Her first step, she declared, was challenging for his title. After defeating a strange being known only as "Deathlord" in a test of worthiness match, Karen dispatched of the Overlord in eight rounds with a score of 5-2. Karen had finally achieved her long awaited goal by becoming the Sixty-first Overlord.
Her reign would immediately prove to be controversial as she denied the veteran Baron Xenograg's loyalty claiming that her faith required her to only accept loyalty from those of Christian faith. Certain members of the community questioned the mixture of religion in the sport but none disagreed so much as to issue a challenge on this basis.
After impressing many veterans with his domination of the Warlord Tournament, Gork used his prize to challenge Overlord Karen Wilder. The Overlord requested a best-of-three format which served to her advantage as Gork continued to impress onlookers by nearly shutting out the Overlord in the first match. Spurred on by the whispers of a "shutout" in the previous match, Karen came storming back in the second match. The pair and the crowd of spectators prepared themselves for what they thought would be a closely matched final battle. The Overlord was still sporting injuries from that nasty first duel but was in no mood to hand the Warlord the mantle. After seven short rounds, she took the win and defended her right to the title.
Merely hours after Karen defended her title from Gork, Warlord Lydia issued challenge. However, due to the fact that the standings had yet to be posted, Lydia's challenge was deemed invalid and unable to proceed.
After two nights of fierce dueling in the Spring Warlord Tournament, Damien Mortis emerged the winner of the Overlord Challenge. Through his lawyer, Damien pressed his right to challenge and the pair met in the Annex for a best-of-three match in what the Overlord considered a very personal match. Karen and Damien had a had a mutual dislike for each other that began years ago when Damien challenged Karen for the Fourth ring.
Karen Wilder brought down a solid 5-3 win in the first match but her first win was quickly matched as Damien came back in the second duel to defeat her after twenty rounds. The third match was just as hard fought as the first two. The combatants kept the match close but in the tenth round, Damien Mortis was able to secure a one point lead and became the sixty-second Overlord.
