After Falcon Vernick stepped down from the Overlord's seat, a tournament of Warlord's was held to replace the vacancy. The final two contestants in that tournament were two women: Midnight Blue and Amaltea thu-Darelir. In a quick eight round match, Amaltea was able to defeat Blue with a score of 5-2.5 to become the first ever-female Overlord of the Duel of Swords.

Amal's first challenger was former Overlord Falon. Amal proved that the women of the Duel of Swords were no pushover, and defeated Falon 5-3.5 in seven rounds.

Interestingly enough, Amal's second for these two challenges was the man who defeated her husband, Xenograg, to become the Seventh Overlord, Prince Stefano de Fortenza.

Amaltea's second challenge came from Warlord Vixxenish. Amal changed her second for the evening, and in doing so, may have changed her luck. In another short seven round match, Vixxenish became the twelfth Overlord, and the second female Overlord, by defeating Amal, 5.5-3.
