Challenge News
It's Six O'Clock on a Thursday, the regular standings are going up. There's an old duelist sitting next to me, making love to his alcoholic cup. He says "G, can you write me a memory, I'm not really sure how it goes. But there's challenges and cutting galore, and beating up all of my foes."
La la la, di da da. La la, di da da Ahhhh hum.
Yeah, sue me. It's G'nort's G'news time!
Our first bit of news comes from the grandest stage of all. The Overlord Challenge! That's right, folks, you may have heard through my advocate, Saul Heyman, that I was going after the Overlord title and to become the Arena's first All Title Holder. Well, I said I was gonna do it, and I did it! But make no mistake, it wasn't easy. Rand put up a hell of a fight and it went 17 rounds to do it! Five defenses don't come easy, and he didn't make taking it easy either, first with the Test by Harris which I countered with Andrea Anderson, but then in the fight with me. In the end, I took the title and a bunch of Barons went Renegade, though a couple opted to show Loyalty. I can dig Loyalty. Andrea, by way of winning the testing match, was rewarded with my former Barony of New Haven. She's one of the Loyals.
The second bit of news comes from the Battle for Old Temple. It's kind of amusing to note that all the challenge related matches in the Arena went into overtime. The test went 16 rounds, my fight went 17, and Melanie vs Sabine's went 14 rounds but a 6.5-5 score. I suppose you want to know who won, well, I could torture you, but you'd find out soon enough anyway. It was Sabine who emerged victorious in an intense and hard fought battle! Congrats Sabine and good fighting Melanie!
The third tidbit is an update of last weeks announcement that one Terry King has issued challenge to Baroness Rhiannon Brock for the title of Battlefield Park. It's going to be one of those doozies, I bet. Doozies? Doozys? Dewsiez? Whatever! Point being the time and day for this battle has been set for Thursday night at the 10 PM (EST) striking of the Rhydin clock. Gong, Gong, Gong!
All in all, it was both an eventful, and uneventful week. Eventful because two titles changed hands, history was made, I look sexy as always. Uneventful because no challenges were issued and there's only the one in the queue. So, it's looking to be a relatively calm week, this week. I can live with calm.
So, that's the news, folks. Remember this is the start of a New Cycle, the Autumn/Fall Cycle! So if you've fallen from the standings, check the notes so you can get thrown back on, get a duel, and enjoy life! It's too short to be bogged down by horrible things.. like grumpkins. Grumpkins are truly a bane, they always get into stuff and chew through the bottoms of bags so everything falls out when you lift them. So, check for grumpkins and make sure you spray the area so you don't have to worry about them!
