Summer Cycle, Week 8

August 23rd - August 29th

ANNOUNCEMENTS: It’s been a busy week in the Outback! IceDancer changed hands after Eregor defeated Gren in a pair of tight sudden death matches! Eregor won 5-4 in 12 and then 11 rounds respectively. ShadoWeaver also went up for grabs this week, with Karma utilizing her Heavy Hitter’s Challenge Grant to challenge Jaycy! In two matches, Jaycy defended the Black Opal 5-4 in 8 and 5-3 in 6.

New Challenges! PathFinder’s back up for grabs again! Yuzuki has challenged Mallory for the Green Opal and she waived grace. This match is set for Thursday September 3rd at 9! Jaycy’s not done yet either! Right on the heels of her defense Jaycy waived grace to Hope’s grant recipient, Mart, and he challenged! But that’s not all - Jaycy opened the night (Sept 1st, starting at 8) to a challenge queue! She’s already got four in line behind Mart - Matt and Koy Simon, Karma (again?!), and Ebon! Who will end up taking home the Black Opal?!

Other Venue News! Over in the Arena, Hope’s the new Overlady! Cadentia has a new (and first-time!) Baron in Morgan Chae! Congratulations to you both! Finally, Gloria withdrew her challenge to Tali. Over on the Isle, challenges in the rings have been quiet but coming up there’s the Archmage Tournament (tonight at 9!) and then Movie Night starting at 8 on Sept 1! They’ve got multiple screens and a bunch of great movies! The Youkai Festival continues until September 5th! TEAM EVENT RUMORS - word has it around town that IFL offices are starting to see more activity; could a new season announcement be on the horizon?! Even more interesting was a tease during an interview about a Swords team thing! Keep an eye out for news as it happens!

Outside the Rings and About Town! The beach at Seaside is closing as the weather is going to start getting cooler and it had a smashingly successful sendoff this past week. Thanks for Reggie Wellston for all her work in coordinating that! The Shanachie Theater held auditions this past week; we look forward to seeing new and returning stars in the new season! Last but not least, the Hunter’s Guild is still looking for a few brave beings to cull some monsters in the Wilds!

FISTMELDA'S TUSK: The holder of the Fistmelda's Tusk for this cycle is The Unburied! ((Fistmelda's Tusk grants the holder several perks, some of which are rank dependant and and include an extra modifier for lower ranks. Please see this thread for more details.)).

Mentoring Note: ((Remember, if you have a mentor, and are under the rank of Sapphire, you get one(1) fancy/feint maneuver above your current rank's total when your Mentor is present and watching over your duel! No duelist under the rank of Emerald may have a fancy/feint total higher than five, regardless of mentor and/or Panther's Claw bonuses.))

Returning Fighters: Don't see your name on the standings, but know you had a record in the past? Check our historical record. Any fighter to achieve 1+ WoL should be on there. Once you find your name, though before a duel begins, tell your opponent and you can fight at rank. You'll be automatically reinstated in the next published standings.

Other Notes: ( I ) = Inactive. No duels in the past 90 days. Get in the ring! ( NE ) = Not elligible to challenge. An inactive duelist must be active 30 days prior to being able to challange. Also, Emeralds may challenge but once per calendar month. Note this is tracked for all ranks, but only displayed on Emeralds. Standings Removal: Any duelist inactive for more than a year shall be removed from the standings. You may request re-instatement. Glass ranked duelists with 0 WoL are removed every other cycle or so.
