October 29th - Grand Dukes' Costume Party!

'Tis the season to get spectacularly spooky! Join the Double Dukes Drhys tonight dressed up in your finest alter ego fashions! Their mansion in the Gloaming district will be rocking out to the Monster Mash and all your other favorite Halloween hits! The party starts at sundown and doesn't stop, possibly not even until the weekend is over! Young ghouls and goblins who stop by will all be given their very own gift basket full of sweets! There will be glow sticks aplenty and plenty of opportunity to romp with the goodest of girls, Gussie! Autographs and photo opportunities with at least one of Rhydin's former governors will be available for a limited time.

November 5th - Boyfriend Birthday Bash Extravaganza!

Tonight in the Gloaming District, the mansion at #11 Twilight Lagoon has been taken over by a car show! Classics from just about every era in the known universe, even ones you haven't lived to see yet, are lined up on the lawn. Take a look under the hood and investigate those engines. Talk to the owners to learn the history of their prized vehicles. On top of that, there are fig themed snacks in abundance. Not to mention one exceptionally large birthday cake! All to celebrate the day that Dris' loving partner, Rhys Germain, was born! Catch the IFL fights on the big screen if you aren't there in person, and party the night away with the Double Dukes. Don't forget to wish Rhys a happy birthday while you're at it!

November 12th - Dueler Appreciation Extravaganza!

Whether or not you plan on attending Armsgiving tonight at the Red Dragon Inn, remember that #11 Twilight Lagoon in the Gloaming District on Twilight Isle is open to the public again as well! Drop on by any time from sun down to sun up and party the night away in style with the second* most fashionably coordinated power couple, the Double Dukes Drhys! Duelists of all ranks and ages are welcome, especially those most famous celebrities of the Iron Fists League! If you missed last night's Party on Overlord Isle or managed to get around the angry fisherperson blockade unscathed, come on by and jump on a potential second opportunity for photo ops and autographs with your favorite IFL duelists and teams! Tonight is also regulation dueling night on the Isle! If you need a place to crash afterward, the #11 Gloaming mansion is the place to be! If you're not fighting yourself, or at the IFL Gardens, maybe even stick around to watch tonight's 10:00 main event, Crunchem vs. Herne, on the big screens!

December 3rd - Overlord Challenge Watch Party!

Even if you plan to attend the event in person, the Double Dukes Drhys will be hosting an Overlord Challenge watch party in their Gloaming District mansion at #11 Twilight Lagoon tonight! Drop on by any time before and/or after to dance the night away. There will be plenty of hors d'oeuvres and macarons to snack upon, not to mention an exceptionally large selection of alcoholic (and non) beverages! The challenge itself will be shown on the big screen as well as every other available television in the mansion, live streamed through Sync! Not a sports fan? No problem! Feel free to join the revelries anyway! This party, like every other, is open to everyone!

December 17th - The Final Friday!

Tonight is the night of the season, with Governor Karma Armstrong hosting the Winterfest 2021: Yule Ball out in Seaside! Though the Ministers of Culture and Technology will be attending this most anticipated party of the year, rest assured that they will find their way back home to the Gloaming district by the end of the night. As a matter of fact, they are opening the doors of their mansion to all party-goers for one enormous sleep-over grand finale event! There will be stacks of pajamas of all varieties and in all sizes available as gifts to you! Pick your size, snag some slippers, stake out the coziest spot on the floor (air mattresses and sofa space aplenty) among heaps of blankets and pillows! Settle in to snuggle with your sweethearts, or very good friends, and unwind while snacking on popcorn, sipping cocoa, and watching an all night long holiday movie marathon! Stay all night, sleep all day, and in the morning the Double Dukes will bid a fond farewell for one last time to close out the fall before winter begins!

As the Yule Ball began to wind down, Karma (and likely Caleb too) caught wind of the after party at the Gloaming's primary party house. As such, she changed out of her cumbersome ball gown and into a theme fitting cocktail dress that could easily be swapped for pajamas soon enough, finding a set of cozy-but-classic tartan plaid pjs to call her own.

December 25th - It's Christmas!

Closing out the year of their perpetual house parties, the Double Dukes Drhys are hosting one last big shindig of the year, especially on Saturday. Continuing a yearly family tradition, they are opening their doors to all of Rhydin. Don't have a home for the holidays? Well you do now! With a little bit of magic and a whole lot of love, the Gloaming District mansion at #11 Twilight Lagoon Avenue has been transformed into a temporary winter wonderland, for one day only. Come spend the day in style, or drop on by at any time just to say hello. Maybe grab a cookie or two. The 2021 Holiday Party awaits!

Twilight Isle Gloaming District’s
Wonderful Winter Wednesdays!

Now that the holidays are over, the Ministers of Culture and Technology are ready to resume their regularly scheduled perpetual house parties on Twilight Isle! Did you think they were done drowning the Gloaming District in an assortment of DJs with their sick beats? Well you were wrong! After taking down all the holiday decor, the Double Dukes have decorated the interior of #11 Twilight Lagoon with an abundance of wintry themed whites and blues. Things may look chilly around the mansion, but rest assured that there will be no more weather changing shenanigans happening to disrupt the warmth and tranquility of the Isle itself.

From now until the middle of March, drop on in for a visit every Wednesday afternoon and stay as long as you like! Dance the night away, sample some catered fare from any of the various cuisines of the realm, frolic along the private beach of the lagoon, soak in the heated grotto, visit with Dris and Rhys themselves, spoil Gussie rotten, and so much more! If you exhaust yourself on socializing, feel free to stay the night! There are dozens of rooms to choose from! Help yourself to a bed, sofa, or floor space without fear. All visitors and guests will have guaranteed protection.

Nearly every room will again be opened to explore. Only the guest house and two of the mansion’s main bedrooms will be off limits, reserved for the Dukes themselves and their very special regular guests. The grand foyer itself has again been transformed into a dance hall, full of laser lights and an elevated stage designated for live bands and talented DJs! Open bars tended by helpful and knowledgeable hired hands are located within the ballroom, upstairs in the lounge, and outside on the lawn. There will be alcohol aplenty, and a wide variety of nonalcoholic drinks as well. Don’t forget to hydrate with fresh spring water to avoid a hangover!

Arrangements are ongoing with a variety of Rhydin’s finest food businesses, such as the Arena’s Wolves Den Bistro, Twilight Tacos, Nicole’s Bistro & Pizzeria, and many more! The midnight munchies won’t stop our guests from having the times of their lives!

January 5th - Coronation of a Brand New King!

Kicking off the Winter cycle of both parties and duel records, the Double Dukes Drhys are beginning the season by honoring their good friend Ebon Ilnaren, the newly victorious 122nd Overlord of the Duel of Swords! What better way to celebrate than for them to escape their own party and take part in some Swords duels over in the Outback. Worry not, however! They'll be back before the night is over and ready to rejoin partygoers. With any luck they'll be able to kidnap convince the Overlord himself to swing by for photo ops and autographs.

January 26th - Titleholder Tripletime Victory Celebration!

Tonight the Double Dukes Drhys are partying hard to congratulate the newly crowned Archmage, Ebon Ilnaren! Now that he has the keys to the Celstial Tower, we're hoping he'll be convinced to lead some tours. Not only that, but Ebon successfully defended his title of Overlord from the famous dueling sword for hire Caleb Feren! And as if that's not all, Dris himself came out the victor this past weekend and is the newly appointed Baron of Dragon's Gate! This is his very first barony, and he could not be more proud of himself. Expect to see lots of peacock strutting and to be regaled with exaggerated tales of his prowess in the rings. Instant replays of all the challenges will be shown on the big screens throughout the day, exposing the honest truth, but that won't stop him from embellishing.

February 2nd - Sweet Succulents for a Surprising Success!

The Double Dukes Drhys are honoring the unexpected new Keeper of the Tower of Earth this Wednesday in the Gloaming District. Though it is very unlikely the guest of honor himself will even be present, that won't stop them from celebrating in his name! All guests at today's mansion house party will get to go home with their very own enchanted succulent to commemorate this remarkable occasion. These tiny potted plants will never wilt, and respond well to music. Sing to them and watch them sway! Though hardy and easy to care for, they will never grow too big to become a problem.

February 16th - Best Bard's Belated Birthday Bash!

Come on out to #11 Twilight Lagoon Avenue today for a cherry and chocolate extravaganza! Former Governor Sheridan "Dris" Driscol, current Baron of Dragon's Gate and Minister of Culture, is celebrating his day of birth, two days after the fact. Earlier in the week, he and his boyfriend, Minister of Technology Rhys Germain, the other Duke of the duo, toured through various locations in Rhydin to collect a ridiculous amount of sugary sweets thanks to Governor Armstrong's Rhydin Chocolate Festival! If you missed your chance to sample some sweets, the Double Dukes have got you covered! Rumor has it they even arranged for a chocolate fountain to be on hand here, too! There is plenty of fruit for dipping, beverages of all sorts, and music of every genre imaginable so that you can dance the night away! What's more, you'll be able to meet the newest member of the Germain-Driscol household, baby brother Irish Setter puppy Tommy, a gift from a lady most fair!

March 16th - Grand Caketopia Winter Finale!

Spring is almost upon us, and the Double Dukes Dris are ending the season in style! Tonight in the Gloaming District at #11 Twilight Lagoon, we'll be celebrating a plethora of birthdays! Whose birthdays, you may ask? We're not telling! It could be yours! In addition to an assortment of finger foods and a never-ending flood of drinks, a large variety of cakes will be on display and up for eating! At least three total, courtesy of Ariana's Divine Delights Bakery! Come on out for a slice of super duper chocolate*, chocolate stout, or lemon! None of these cakes will be decorated with any names written on them, thereby perpetuating the mystery of who we should be singing to. Don't let that stop you from joining in periodic choruses of the ever popular "Birthday Song," lead by the Hero of Dragon's Gate, former Governor Sheridan "Dris" Driscol himself! But no, he will never reveal whose birthdays by saying any names, no matter how much you try to bribe him. Last chance to dance the winter wigglies away! Be there!

March 20th - Spring Kickoff AMT Winner Bonus Party!

After his surprising victory in the Archmage Tournament tonight, Dris was very easily talked into having an impromptu, unplanned bonus celebration at #11 Twilight Lagoon! With the help of the goblins, thanks to Max's guidance, a whole heck of a lot of the food and drinks that were offered at the tournament were packed up and carted off so that party-goers could continue to feast on the delicious spread! Guests need only disregard the chaos of the mansion being left in the middle of redecorating for the new season. Plenty of rooms and crash spaces remain available!
