Forfeiture of the Overlord Title: Call of the Barons Council
Greetings O' council of Barons. I come to you with urgent, or not-so-urgent news. Former Overlord Mallory Maeda has decided to relinquish her title to take the ring of the Barony of Cadentia. Due to this there is an empty (metaphorically) throne that needs to be filled.. No Overlord rules forever, but there must always be an Overlord.
This is why I've written to you all.
It is time for the council to come together and choose their next course of action.
The council will be given seven days, beginning when this message is pinned, to come together and decide upon a date that a Barons Tournament will take place. I must remind you that the Warlord Tournament will be held later in the coming month of September, so know that whomever should win the mantle of Overlord will soon be tasked to defending it against its winner.
So, to summaries.
1. The barons council is being called to decide upon a date and time a Barons Tournament will take place.
2. The council may also decide which format the tournament will be fought (single or double elimination, round robin, etc).
3. This decision must be made within 7 days, beginning at the time this notice is posted to the cork.
4. Should there be a tie of a 4/4 split vote the tiebreaker will be made by Arithon Falessen, the most senior Baron of this sport.
There is a second option to this though that I will present to the council: Should no decision be made by a majority, or if the majority so wishes, the title of Overlord will/may be placed as a prize in the upcoming Warlord Tournament.
Please keep in touch on the cork! It has been a long time since the council has been called, so it is time for your voices to be heard.

Re: Forfeiture of the Overlord Title: Call of the Barons Council
To The Council of Barons,
May I propose a brunch meeting tomorrow, August 27th, at the Arena's bistro? It will be more efficient for us all to be in the same place at the same time to discuss these matters.
Though, if we would rather all display our powerful and well-trained abilities of writing long-winded mudslinging-esque missives and posting them here, we could do that as well.
Sincerely,
Baroness of Seaside
Jewell
((I was thinking if one of us could set up a group chat via Discord at some point today, we could actually potentially handle the discussion quicker there, even if everyone is not present at the same time, and be able to post the results here. Feel free to reject the suggestion though!))

And I was so looking forward to the mud slinging.
Brunch sounds good. Someone can always sling eggs.

(Agree on the chat, less back and forth)

Brunch Tuesday is good. I’ll just make my class watch Hercules and write a paper.

I will endeavor to join this brunch, although I am working at the library as we are short staffed.
((DM is fine, my availability is challenged over the next day or so.))

Re: Forfeiture of the Overlord Title: Call of the Barons Council
To Na-rae, Coordinator of the Duel of Swords,
The Barons of Old Temple, Dockside, Dragon's Gate, Seaside, New Haven, and Cadentia convened this week over a delightful brunch (the mimosas were particularly good) to discuss the issue set before us of the Forfeiture of the Overlord. From that discussion has come the following unanimous decision of six of the eight barons:
We will hold a round-robin tournament among whichever barons so wish to participate beginning on September 1st and continuing through September 11th. Any barons wishing to participate must sign up before the start of dueling on September 1st and arrange their affairs with the other barons to duel before the end of the day on the 11th during regulation dueling hours. Any tie once the round-robin matches have been fought will be decided among the two barons with a final match.
We hope that you will give your approval and blessing for the above-stated tournament rules.
Sincerely,
The Empress

Dockside supports this decision. And wants more mimosas.

Then with a 6/8 majority this decision passes and will be used.
May I ask who will be overseeing this tournament, or will there be a group effort to post up results? I would suggest the use of this thread for tournament sign ups and logging the progress as well, though would not be against another thread being made so long as there is a notice posted to this one that directs to the other.

Since it was my decision that made all this necessary, I can take responsibility for overseeing the tournament and posting results.

As the senior most baron who made this decision, I will assist Baron WitchyWitchFace as I can.
