Vanion and I will also be meeting Thursday, Feb 1st at 9:30.

On Thursday evening at 9:30 PM, Vanion arrived to press his challenge to Brigath Cedran, the 10 time defender of the Tower of Air.

Brigath met his challenger in Ring Rigel.

The first match wend 13 rounds, and saw Vanion secure the win of the first match 5.5-2.5.

The second match began immediately, and was ended in 11 rounds as Vanion succeeded in wresting the title away from Brigath.

It was what followed that was most intriguing.... when Vanion put out his hand to demand the key from Brigath, Brigath vowed to turn over the Key in two days time. He said that he needed time to move out of the tower.

Vanion grew angry, and the situation drew Etherean's attention. Etherean confirmed that Brigath did indeed have the right to retain his key until the next posting of standings. As Etherean was part of the Island staff that established the Island's rules and safeguards for the mages who come here to compete, his ascertion was the final word, and Vanion left without his key.

Brigath will turn over the Key as compelled by the letter of the laws of Twilight Isle.

It was a record setting number of 9 successful defenses made by Brigath, and hopefully we will see him return to the Tower of Air in time.

Vanion, it was a fine set of matches, and record setting event in that Vanion is the first dueler to hold all 4 keys at one time or another.
