Apologies to Artemus's player

Post by Elijah »

For the rather curt challenge experience last night. Normally Baphelocutis gets more involved and drawn out with his challenge, experiences, but IRL has been very hectic for me of late. Simply put I've had little time to devote to RoH. Just please remember most of the comments I made last night were OOC and not IC. So if people have issue with how things happened last night please remember it wasn't the character of Baphelocutis but the player who acted that way.

Had I the time I would have done the Best of Three option more than likely and drawn it out with more flowery involved role-play, etc. But once in a while things happen that don't allow things to happen as he would normally desire, so I hope one can understand. So if anyone had issue with how things happened last night, be mad or pissed at me the player, not the character Baphelocutis.

Oh, I was pissed, and I already decided who I'm pissed at too.

I bet you can guess who.

That's right...

Richard Pryor. How dare he rob us all of his comedic genius. Damn I'm so pissed at him. =(

Challenge excuses

Post by Elijah »

By the way...

The reason for challenge I sometimes read and just got handed to me by Anjolie Quinn to Baphelocutis about doing it because you don't think someone is active enough in their district is the weakest and lamest thing I have ever heard.

I am not even going to defend my involvement as a player or any of my characters in how much they do or do not actively duel or write SL posts in RoH. Sometimes things go in cycles and phases for people. For me lately I've not had a day off in nearly a month and won't for another two weeks because I got a show call for the ballet. I haven't even gotten to check my own email for the last five days till now. But being a caller and a contributor both as an RoH staff member and as a regular RoH player it really piss me off to read that lame ass challenge excuse givcen to me by Anjolie Quinn's player.

No one should do it to anyone in this forum. People come when they can and offer what they can when they can in whatever amount they can. If people have to worry about being called out publically for "lack of involvement" then honestly people are going to be less involved because they don't want to be critized for IRL or their own degree of availablity.

As a player I've never been so fired up to want to beat somebody in a duel in my over 13 years here as I am in this challenge. Like if I decided on a Best of Three format which I may or may not, 2 perfect shutouts in a row might make up for how pissed I am right now. I used to like the character Anjolie Quinn though I don't know her player, but now I am very angry and seriously annoyed and have pretty much lost about all respect for the character and player.

I hope you have good reason for flaming someone OOC for something their character said IC, Elijah.

Considering Anjolie was only going to challenge a Renegade, her choices were G, Karen, and Baphe. G and Karen have been active in posting SLs regarding their Baronies, and it looks like Anjolie was involved when Karen was poisoned by Vanion. It seems logical to me that any character would have the opinion that Baphe isn't doing much in his district relative to the other Renegades.

You are mixing the lines of IC and OOC.

1. Anjolie was going to choose a Renegade because Cory has a great attachment to his loyals. An example: Topaz's challenge. That being said, I understand that one of the Baron's status was supposed to be changed to loyal and hasn't happened yet. That's just what Cory told me, though.

2. I have nothing against you personally. In fact, my alt. character supported you alt. character during IFL. At least, I'm pretty sure that was you, but I will obviously hold back from divulging the identity. I'm not trying to mess with you.

3. Anjolie had an IC fight with Artemus because she thinks the Barons need to be more involved. Karen AND G'nort are more involved. I'm not picking on you OOC for not being around. Anjolie, my character, has these political feelings and this was her acting out on them. In my mind it is a legitimate reasoning for challenge. Understand that I, LAUREN, didn't give you a challenging reason. That's not my job. My character, ANJOLIE, told you exactly why she's challenging and that's both open and honest.

Whether you have respect for me or not isn't my concern. You're going to form your opinions as you may, but I don't think it's fair to lash out at me OOC. I didn't lash out at you OOC in any way, shape, or form. Between mun to mun... this isn't personal.

I will, however, lash out.

E, I am tired of seeing the disrespect that you are piling ontop of other players.

I don't give two cents what you have to say, as I know you will, about me. Say whatever. You opinion has long since left any effect on me.

As for challenging for 'not being around', there have been challenges since the beginning of things to those who were not around. And if you wish, I am sure I can find one or two, if not multiple, which you yourself have made.

If you don't have time to be around to play, retire, leave, or do whatever and come back when you do have time.

I'm done with you and your hypocritical ways.

Elijah, I understand that things have been quite busy for you but I really hope that when you calm down you realize how petty this whole thing is. In fact, I'm sure Anjolie's player would have been willing to work with you if you had been up front and honest about your other time commitments.

As Tass said, people have been using this reasoning for years and years. But, honestly, it really doesn't matter what the reasoning for challenging is. She could have challenged because she doesn't like the shape of your nose and there'd still be no reason to call her out on the boards like this.

After all, this is really just a silly game.

This IS a game, but it is far from silly as many players take aspects of it quite serious.

Uh...

Karen isn't a Renegade. At least, she's not supposed to be.

She petitioned for Loyalty right after defeating Vanion, just before she collapsed. Cory granted her petition.

Jeeze... that's what I get for not looking at the Standings very often...
