Chat Room Beta Testing

Hey All,

As you may or may not know, we have been working to bring you, the community as a whole, a more enjoyable playing experience within the Realms we have called home for a long time now. This will always be a work in progress as we try to improve things here. Currently, we have been doing some backbench chatroom testing as the latest improvement and we are at the next step: Beta Testing.

After testing and reviewing many different chat programs, we think that we have found one that will suffeciently meet our needs. We are now working in affiliation with www.dragonsmark.com towards this goal to bring you a functional chatroom that we can call our own. Check them out and help them grow with us as they in turn will help us grow. As you all may know, we have devoted our time and effort towards the duels and keeping them going. We are moving forward and would like the players to have the ability to enjoy a non-dueling IC environment for those times when you are free to play but the Duel hours are over. This is where we need your help.

There are folks playing at Rings of Honor that have been looking for a place to have their characters 'hang out' in when the duels themselves are not open. When the duels were on AOL, they had a place, it was the Red Dragon Inn. Now that RoH is on the web, many of you no longer have AOL, and thus have no access to the Red Dragon Inn.

Enter, Dragon's Mark. Dragon's Mark is being developed to be the "next-generation" FFGF, but like RoH, it will be web based. And one of the features we are currently testing is a web-based chat system. Dragon's Mark is currently hosting The Red Dragon Inn as part of this web based chat at www.dragonsmark.com/chat - right now this is a Beta release of the new chat software, but is very near final release. We invite you to come and make use of this room for your non-dueling role play and help us out with our testing. We are continuing to test tweaks and mods so any and all suggestions will be seriously looked into.

Since we are in the testing phase, what I need from you, the community, is for you to check out the chat room and get a feel for it. Let us know how it performs for you so that we can see if it will be beneficial for us to go ahead and incorporate the duels into chat rooms of our own and make a decent break from AOL. Your feedback is very important. Bear in mind that it is Flash based and you will need Flash Player 7. You will also need to register for the chat but this is for testing and will change upon release. If all goes well and we get a positive response from the community then we will be holding a Beta Event for the Duelers to see how it will respond in a dueling room hosted on RoH's server.
