Overlord Squireship Invitation

Duelists and Management of the Duel of Swords Arena,

I have been reminded, thanks to Baron Ilnaren of Cadentia, that I am allowed to choose a Squire of Grandmaster Rank or lower.

The first Overlord to have a Squire was the Lady Claire Gallows, who has earned the Triple Crown of Dueling. I thought about following her lead and making this a contest, but decided to choose someone that has shown a lot of enthusiasm in the rings. If she is willing to accept, an offer of squireship is made to Hailey Winters, who is currently a Grandmaster.

The following is added in the interest of fairness: should Hailey accept this invitation and gain the rank of Warlord during my time as Overlord, she may choose to stay as a Squire for the rest of my time holding the title. However, the rules, as currently written, don't allow for Warlords to continue as Squires after a Baron or Overlord fails to defend, retires, or loses their their title in some other way.

The Shield of Gondar, crafted by the fathers of my nephew, Addair, and my bestie, Niko; once held by my mother when she served as Squire to the 119th Overlord, Lilith Anderson, will be waiting to be claimed.

She looked over her shoulder to her mother. "That look all right?"

Colleen took a breath as she read the notice and set a hand on Abby's shoulder. It occurred to her that Abby might follow in her father, Darien's, footsteps as writer and columnist. "I think it looks grand. The historical notes are a fine touch. Been spending a lot o' time in the library wit' Maggie, I gather."

"So, it's good?"

"It will do, nicely. I think a few people might have eyebrows flyin' up when they realize when one o' m' timeslipped grandchildren is the son o' Sylus Kurgen.

The pair made their way to the Marketplace.
