Re: A Wake for All Saints IV (Board Event)
Their evening began on the Isle, where the Double Dukes Drhys spent the last hours of event month slinging spells for the witches. Afterward, they hopped through the portal and embarked on a ghostly carriage ride up the Fickle Way to the Overlook. That night Dris was dressed as the Aziraphale to Rhys' Crowley, with a little extra glamour help from his loving life partner to make his black curls blonde.
As soon as they arrived Dris was drawn like a moth to the flame to where the drinks were, and he dragged Rhys along with him to the Shining Speakeasy for refreshments. They were pleasantly surprised to find themselves involved in unraveling a mystery! Though definitely spooky, Dris was too intrigued to be scared and played an active roll in trying to help figure out whodunnit.
Afterward, he and Rhys made their way to the ballroom to fill their bellies and put their dancing shoes to work. Like all previous years, they entered the costume contest as a couple. They stayed all night together, chatting and dancing with any friends who so desired, as much as with each other. In the morning they indulged in the offered brunch, and at some point were certain to thank Karma for another wonderfully thrilling time before making their way back home.
(( Thank you so much for extending the deadline, Karma! ))

Re: A Wake for All Saints IV (Board Event)
After spending part of the evening throwing spells and Pumpkin Bombs to get in a last hurrah during Magic’s Halloween event, Rhys left the Isle in the company of his love, Dris, and caught a ghostly carriage ride up to Overlook via the Fickle Way. This year, he came dressed as the Crowley to Dris’ Aziraphale, clothed in stylish darkness with his curls glamoured red.
It was no surprise to him when his partner was immediately drawn to the libations, and he was happy to accompany Dris into the Shining Speakeasy. There he lounged against the bar, trying all of the evening’s signature cocktails with Dris’ help as they listened to Gideon tell the story of the Sanguine Ligurio murders.
Rhys was still chewing over the conundrum of who had killed the gang members when he and Dris finally made their way to the Ghostly Gala. He was certain to sample all of the vegetarian offerings on the menu and frequently had a little plate in his hands as he circulated with Dris, chatting with friends and otherwise mingling. He was also available to dance with nearly anyone who asked, though the majority of his dance card was dedicated to his partner.
And yes, they absolutely did enter the Couples’ Costume Contest.
For their overnight stay, Rhys chose one of the temperature-controlled glamping units. Given the time of year, he was all too aware of the Veil’s thinness and all of the activity within Overlook’s walls, especially with the Warden haunting its halls. And the idea of warding one of the well-appointed bedrooms seemed a bit rude.
In the morning, Rhys built himself a vegetarian version of a Humpty-Dumpty burger and made easy conversation with his friends and partner while he ate. Before they left, he made sure to track Karma down to thank her for another fantastic party.

Rachael and Ian Blackthorne both participated in the couple's costume competition at Overlook Mansion dressed as a Lord and his Lady. Ornate wrought golden masks crafted by Ian were worn to complement their costumes.
After dancing the night away, the couple spent the rest of the night in one of the Mansion's rooms that were set aside for guests. They indulged in the complementary brunch on the patio the next morning. Then the Blackthornes thanked their thoughtful hostess and ventured back to the city via one of the spectral carriages.

All the paperwork was in order and with 3PO along to chaperone, Maggie joined the people at Karma's annual All Saint's gala. While they enjoyed the food and drinks, they had come, primarily, to wander the Overlook hoping to free some trapped souls that were ready to move on. They were dressed as Nimue and Arthur.

It was late when Gatito and his good friend and café manager, Zariyah, donned their Mario Siblings costumes and embarked upon their journey up to the Overlook. Despite the hour, they opted to make the trek on foot, and when they were approached by a lovely Vistani woman in the woods, they took a short detour into the Vistani camp. There, they shared drink around the fire with those who lived in the camp, and each of them took a turn in the Raven Lady’s tent for a reading.
After, they took to the Mystic’s Maze and systematically worked their way through its confusing turns and puzzles. They collected several crystals along the way, some of which Gatito threw at a tricksy little beasty when it tried to steal his Star Man plushy. His bravado failed him when a chainsaw-wielding psycho reared their head, and he and Zariyah ran screaming and laughing from the last leg of the maze.
Curious over the candle shining in its window, the pair of them snuck into the carriage house to explore. They managed to find their way downstairs to the underground lounge, where they settled in to watch some of the dark carnival acts. They even stuck around for the stage magician’s show, and when the magician, Lloyd, asked for an assistant, Gatito volunteered. He wasn’t expecting Lloyd to make him “disappear,” but he enjoyed the slide down to the tunnels. The enchanted tarot card the experience netted him gave him pause, and he tucked the card carefully away where it would be safe and secure until he had a chance to consider it more closely.
Once Gatito and Zariyah united outside the carriage house, they continued on to the Overlook. A little unnerved by the readings they’d received from the Raven Lady, the pair decided to forego a turn in Room 712, but they did venture into the tunnels for the ghost hunt. While they were down there, the two could be heard singing the “Ghost Busters” theme song and laughing their heads off.
Much later in the evening, they finally made their way to the Overlook’s grand ball room, entered the Duo Costume Contest, and joined the Danse Macabre. After refueling with several cocktails and plates full of the evening’s culinary offerings, they joined others on the dance floor, where they laughed and chatted with every friend they came across—save for one, who was busy haunting the halls as though he were a true ghost. Later, once they retired to their reserved room, Gatito briefly left Zariah to track down that spook.
In the morning, the pair of them joined Karma and many of the others on the patio to indulge in brunch and a little bit of day drinking. They made sure to thank the former governor for putting on yet another spectacular, spooky bash. And when it was time to head home, the two friends caught a carriage back to the city.

(( For the sake of simplicity, I only rolled for Gatito’s part of the ghost hunt.

When the clock struck midnight, the judging concluded and Karma announced the winners of the costume contest!
"In the category of Best Historic Couple or Duo Costume, we have Mairead & 3PO as Nimue & Arthur!" The pair received a trophy shaped like the Parthenon.
"Next up, for Best Contemporary Couple or Duo Costume, perennial favorites, the Double Dukes Drhys as Aziraphale & Crowley!" The pair received a trophy shaped like a very odd, abstract piece of modern art.
"From there, for Most Fashionable Couple or Duo Costume, we have Ian & Rachael Blackthorne as a Lord & his Lady!" The pair received a trophy that was almost assuredly Henry Fonda's Honorary Academy Award from the 53rd Academy Awards on Terra Prime. Don't ask how Karma got it.
"After that, we have Best Scary Costume, which goes to Celeste von Draculea who came as a very spooky vampire lady!" Celeste received a Frankenstein's monster trophy.
"Then we have Best Silly Costume, which goes to Gatito & Zariyah as the Mario siblings!" The pair received a trophy in the shape of a cat standing on its head.
"And finally for Best Solo Costume, I choose Salvador Delahada as 'What are you supposed to be? Nothing that's just my face.'!" Finally, Salvador received a trophy shaped like the headless horseman of lore. The jack-o'-lantern in the crook of its arm had light up eyes and mouth that glowed red.
((As always, thank you everyone for participating in another Wake for All Saints! It's one of my favorite board events of the year and I enjoy putting it together so much to give another thing for people to play off of during the already busy Halloween season!))
