Tower of Earth Challenge: A Message to Keeper Anya

We have promised one another a duel for some time, since I first came to the City, in fact. We have yet to arrange one. I feel we are well overdue to meet in the ring. I ask that you honor me with a challenge for the key to the Tower of Earth.

Denizens of the duels! It was my honor and privilege to be chosen to officiate this challenge between the Lady Sorceress Iskira Adia, of the House of Adia, and Her Majesty the Queen of the Winter Ball, Keeper Anya de la Rose!

As these challenges go, this was of course a best of three battle, but it was a challenge that concluded in only two matches. Both of them took no less than twelve rounds to complete, however, so we had ourselves quite an exciting show to watch! To our spectating delight, both matches were fought in the legendary and extraordinary Ring Titan!

The first one started well in Anya’s favor. She drew first blood and steadily gained a large lead, getting slightly over match point in the seventh round. By the ninth, Lady Kira started making a strong comeback. Bit by bit she chipped into Anya’s lead, but Her Majesty closed things out with a studious defense in the twelfth round, securing her first win with a score of 5 to 2.5.

The second match started first in Kira’s favor, and for a while it looked as if this one was going to be a full reversal. She took an early lead that climbed all the way to three points over Anya’s half in the sixth round. Round seven, however, was where Anya started making a powerful comeback. The Keeper went from that small half point to full two in an instant, and then steadily increased her score round by round. She took back the lead by half a point in the ninth. In round twelve, they brought us to a SUDDEN DEATH at matching five points each. Anya scored the final point in the thirteenth round and secured her victory at a score of 6 to 5.

What a stupendous spectacle it was to witness! Well tried on your challenge, Kira! Congratulations on your defense, Keeper Anya!
