June 2019 Archmage Tournament

The April 2019 Archmage Tournament will be held on Sunday, June 16th at 9:00pm Eastern! The format will most likely be double elimination (depending on entrants), and late entrants have no more than 5 minutes to arrive. Seeding will begin at 9:05pm, and casting will begin at 9:10pm.

Seeding will be based on the most recent RoK rankings. Early registration will cut off on Friday, June 14th at 8:55pm ET. Any late registrants or walk-ins will automatically be ranked below early registrants. Registrants tied with the same ranking will be seeded by WoL.

Second place will also take home an additional prize in the form of a newly minted Keeper's Blessing.

Keeper's Blessing

1. Allows the wielder of this grant the ability to use a special one time use Elemental Fury crystal within a challenge against a Keeper. This crystal will allow its wielder the use of Elemental Fury up to three times within a challenge ( should the challenge go to 3 full duels ). The power of the Elemental Fury Crystal can only be used once per match.

2. Allows the wielder to submit the Blessing to the Duel of Magic staff to be redeemed for a Challenge Grant that can be awarded to any non-mage / mage emeritus duelist of their choice. This grant will allow its wielder to challenge one of the four elemental keeper titles so long as the keeper is not under a grace period. This grant must be used within 14 days.

(( Should 2nd place go to a current Elemental Keeper, they can only select the second option to give the grant away, and cannot select the EF crystal since they're already a keeper. ))

Tower of Light & Dark
With the Tower looming in the distance -- those who have orbs of light and dark will be able to collect energy during this tournament, as they would from any normal regulation duel in magic.

The Winner of the Archmage Tournament, should they be a member of a Sect, will receive a boon of the Celestial for either Light or Dark with an increase of 20 energy added to their total for the night. (Information on the Cycle Long Event: Here.

(( Participate in the end of the cycle Archmage Tournament = 2 Points for Joining (must also participate).
Each match during the Tournament will result in the win/loss point gains. Bonuses will also apply.
The Archmage Tournament winner, should they be part of a sect, will gain 20 points for their sect. ))

Gloria Blaze, by coming in second place in the Archmage Tournament, has won the Keepers Blessing. The Keeper's Blessing is valid until the end of the next upcoming cycle.

Should Gloria wish to use the second option of the Keepers Blessing she will have 14 days, starting by the time of this post, to name any non-mage / mage emeritus duelist of their choice to be the recipient of the blessings redeemed challenge grant.

With his right arm in a sling, his right hand heavily bandaged, and several dark red stains on rumpled black clothing that looked suspiciously like blood, Bailey was far from his usual put-together self, but he at least managed to wrangle enough goblins and golems to put together a dragon-inspired make-up look for the Archmage challenge. How he got his eyes shifted to orange? Well...that was a secret.

Tonight at nine by the Eastern clock, come to Twilight Isle to watch Keeper of Water Michelle Montoya take on icon Bailey Raptis for the title of Archmage!

It has been a busy week for the Isle, with the crystalline Tower of Light & Dark turning the color of night, and an explosive match for the Tower of Fire ending with Gloria as its new Keeper. And Claire's own challenge for the Tower of Air will follow soon after! But for all of the Isle's activity, a rather serene stage has been set for this contest,

Challenge in the Sea of Stars!

Golden lights hang in the air above the rings and the seats around them, like the cosmos have come down from the Celestial Citadel to touch the earth; while raised craters of stone where people can sit are filled with cool springs nearly as beautiful as the Tower of Water's lagoon, teeming with ethereal fish made of magic itself and reflecting the starry lights above. Smaller celestial lights float closer to the ground, sometimes following, accompanying, even chasing the more playful spectators watching the match, while others skim over the little streams of pure water that flow between the raised springs.

The goblins are as busy as ever tonight! Not only are they passing out drink orders (only a silver a glass for champagne!), but glimmering bubble wands free of charge!

So come out to root for the Keeper in her challenge, or the defending Archmage, enjoy the drinks and bubbles and the cool water, and watch the show!
