Challenge for Seaside
It had been a whirlwind of a day, of a week, of a couple of months (maybe longer) for the Knight of the Wyld, but this did not prevent her from showing up at the top of the hour to pin a parchment to the cork boards in the Arena.
In plain simple script it read:
I challenge for Seaside.
- Penny Escobar
The parchment carried with it the faint scent of honey and the edge looked to be absently smeared with purple sparkles.

Re: Challenge for Seaside
I see that Lady Vael wished me well in my reign only because she thought that it would be a short one.
It seems you meddle in the the affairs of Faeries, child. I hope you are strong enough to survive.
Challenge accepted. I look forward to the match.

Jewell,
You awakened a few elders and ancients with that invocation! They came knocking on my door to ask who the young upstart was that called upon them. I can't wait to hear the story you tell them!

It was a small yellow sheet of lined paper, presumably ripped free from a piece of cheap stationary. The message was written blue ink with neat, meticulous letters.
Do not meddle in the affairs of wizards, for they are subtle and quick to anger. J.R.R. Tolkien. Fellowship of the Ring. There's no small amount of irony in what was chosen for paraphrasing, given the challenger.

Denizens of the Arena,
I feel like you all are underestimating how hilarious I am. I know she's a wizard. Hence the quote.
I also feel it is important to recognize that Tolkien clearly did not have many dealings with the Fair Folk. If he had, he would have written: Do not meddle in the affairs of faeries, for they will fuck you up every time.
Not a threat, kid. A fact. I've been there.

I've been there too. Hells, I lived there for quite a while. She's not lying.

Re: Challenge for Seaside
Finally a second simple note was attached to the boards.
This challenge will be Thursday, May 2 at 8:30 pm EST.
Eden will be calling.
There may have been a crack of a smile from the Knight of the Wyld as she read over the notes above before she headed out of the Arena.

Re: Challenge for Seaside
Our two fighters met promptly at 8:30ET!
The challenger, Penny Escobar, fought under a purple and black banner. She had no second, and her lady of honor was Lady Vaeluthil Rosemary Marigold Larkspur Whitevale.
Baron Jewell Ravenlock fought under a banner of black and gold. Her second was Ishmerai, and her people of honor were House Royal.
The Baron chose a one-shot format. After 7 rounds, Jewell secured the defense with a score of 5 - 2!
Congratulations Jewell and well-tried Penny!

Re: Challenge for Seaside
Penny's 30 day waiting period began Friday, May 3rd at 12 AM (EST).
The waiting period will end on Sunday, June 2nd, 2019 at 12 AM (EST).
This waiting period can be circumvented by Penny if she collects five winning duels, starting May 3rd, and proceeds to include them in any new challenges before the 30 day limit comes to an end.
Normal challenge rules will still apply (Standings must be updated to reflect this challenge as complete before any new challenges can be made by Penny).
