UserName Change Requests

More than a couple people over the years have asked to change their username on the site. While this is a supported self service feature on the RDI site, it isn't something we've ever supported here. Forum username is a complex maze of interactions here; being tied not only to the forums but to Discord and sport standings as well. That said, we are changing this stance and will begin supporting name change requests going forward. This will need to be staff managed due to the complicated interactions and restricted (see below) rather than self-service - but supported none-the-less and we'll be happy to get you set up within the guidelines.

Supported cases for name change are fairly straight forward and allowed in 3 situations:

• Change or addition of a surname to the your character. For example Claire Farron wanting to become Claire Gallows, or me changing Kalamere to Kalamere ArDin.
• Changing from a "handle" to a name. For example Goldglo asking to become Matt Simon
• Formatting corrections for spacing and/or capitalization. For example, JewellRavenlock may wish to insert a space and be changed to Jewell Ravenlock.
• Other types of requests will be taken on a case by case basis and will likely need additional information from you.

What we will NOT support is a change to the fundamental character. Dueling especially is linked to a combination of username and user id, so we cannot support transfer of a user id to a brand new character. For that you'll simply have to register a new account.

Also, please use standard alphanumeric characters. No single or double quotes or other special characters as it can complicate some of the other interactions between systems (like calling in Discord).
