You bothered me once, little girl. Now, I'm going to repay that inconvenience.

She not built like a small boy anymore, lad. Maybe see if the Abovelord is spoiling for some of your tumescent manliness?

Dear Terrible Meanface,

We shall bother as much as we like!

Here, Ahni stuck her tongue out and raspberried the corkboard. Of course, no one saw but a random passerby, and they decided to give the little lady a wide berth.

People of the Duels!

It was my privilege and pleasure to be given the honor to officiate this challenge!

The challenger, Warlord Anubis Karos fought under the black banner with a viper threading through a silver Eye of Ra, fangs bared. His Second this evening was Bile. Listed as his only Lady of Honor was Tara Rynieyn, in absentia.

Baroness Vaeluthil Whitevale represented Seaside under the colors of purple and sparkles! Her Second this evening was Cael the Bravest! Listed as her People of Honor were The Cabinet of Squires, Ahni, Cael, Buzzeria, Barbie, and also me! Dris the Handsome!

Overlord Matt Simon chose to intercede on Vaeluthil's behalf and put Lord Karos to the test. With no renegade barons present to champion him, Anubis was forced to face Matt on his own. Though, for the record, he stated very clearly that he needed no baron.

This fight took for-ev-er! Very grueling. They were quite an even match, impressive all around. Ultimately, however, Lord Karos was soundly defeated by the Overlord and denied access to Baroness Vaeluthil herself. Seaside was defended and she gets to keep her title.

Well defended with that intercession, Matt! Nice try, Anubis! Better luck next time!

Below is a copy of the transcript play-by-play. Enjoy!

INTERCESSION

Code: Select all

Round 1: "Both these fine upstanding gentlemen start off on the defensive. You can tell they're perfectly prepared to thwart each other soundly, but with no attack incoming from either side, nobody scores first blood yet." ( FCP / FCP ) 0 - 0

Round 2: "It's like they're both old and have fought each other thousands of times or something, because once again they are copying each other! Both go low. Nobody lands a strike that wins a point. Somebody needs to bleed already! But it's not happening this round." ( LC / LC ) 0 - 0

Round 3: "This time they are not doing exactly the same thing! It's amazing! Unfortunately, it is still not progress. Both gentlemen go on the defensive in different ways. Nobody lands a strike. Nobody bleeds. Nobody gets any points. Moving on." ( SH / FSS ) 0 - 0

Round 4: "Man, fellahs. This is really starting to turn into a snooze fest! This is probably the most impressive game of chicken I've ever seen played out in the rings, though. Both Matt and Anubis continue to play defensive and fail to score." ( FLP / SH ) 0 - 0

Round 5: "Finally we see some action! Anubis is the first to blink. He charges in full speed ahead, and slams into a brick wall consisting of a whole lot of nope on Matt's end. First blood finally scored by the Overlord with that fine defense." ( TH / FLP ) 1 - 0 Matt

Round 6: "The hurts just keep on coming for Lord Karos. He defends entirely the wrong way and allows Matt's lower strike to cut clean through. The Overlord extends his lead by another point, but we're only getting started." ( LP / LC ) 2 - 0 Matt

Round 7: "Some fancy footwork on Anubis's part gets him on the board! Lord Karos slips around the Overlord's stylish defense to land himself a point. He could still have a chance at facing the Baroness. Stay tuned!" ( FSS / FCP ) 2 - 1 Matt

Round 8: "A direct assault on the part of Anubis brings this match to a tie at twos. I told you. We're only just getting started after that snoozefest of a warm up the first few rounds. Now we're making with the violence! Woo!" ( TH / LC ) 2 - 2

Round 9: "Matt tries to repay the favor of the previous round but only winds up in a world of hurt when his attack lands against Anubis's superior defensive wall. The lead changes hands to the favor of Lord Karos." ( SH / TH ) 3 - 2 Anubis

Round 10: "Oh c'mon, fellahs! I thought we were done with the copy catting! Listen, if this were a limbo contest surely one of ye'd be better at the back bends than the other here, but let's get serious and make more with the cutting!" ( FDU / FDU ) 3 - 2 Anubis

Round 11: "Anubis goes on all out assault mode, but Matt tosses back the red cape and lets the bull charge on by. This changes up the score and puts the match back at a tie of threes. It could still be anyone's game!" ( TH / FSS ) 3 - 3

Round 12: "Matt slices and dices his way through Anubis's defense to land himself at match point. One more and he'll bar access to the Baroness, but don't give up on Lord Karos just yet. He could still get through." ( LP / SL ) 4 - 3 Matt

Round 13: "Here they go again thinking too much alike. Both gentlemen swing high and only get so far as having their weapons collide. Matt maintains the near-win lead, but it's not over until it is, folks, so stick around." ( HC / HC ) 4 - 3 Matt

Round 14: "Lord Karos puts up a wall, but the Overlord is sweeping down low with a swipe that has him taking off with the win. This intercession comes to a close in the Baroness's favor. Anubis is denied the opportunity to take her on directly." ( SH / LC ) 5 - 3 Matt
