Ladies, gentlemen and others in between were gathered in the Arena tonight to witness the challenge between Anubis Karos and Vaeluthil Whitevale for the barony of Old Temple.

The Baron dueled under a black banner with an eye of Ra being threaded through by a viper. He had no second and his lady of honor was Tara Rynieyn.

The challenger dueled under a purple banner filled with sparkles. Her second was Cael and her people of honor were as follows: Cael the Bravest, Cupcake Gabby, Nice Rena, Lovely Ellie and Quiet Layla.

The Baron picked a best of three format.

Temple1 1  Vael moves away...into the path of Anubis' low swing &#40;LC/FSS&#41; 1-0 Anubis
Temple1 2 Nothing here as on braces for naught while the other attempts to block something that isn't there &#40;FCP/SH&#41;
Temple1 3  Anubis gets to the point and wants to extend his lead....Vael has other ideas though&#58; she steps aside &#40;TH/SS&#41; 1-.5 Anubis
Temple1 4  Vael goes high but Anubis is waiting &#40;FLP/HC&#41; 2-.5 Anubis
Temple1 5  Vael goes to block something...Anubis steps aside to extend his lead &#40;FSS/FCP&#41; 3-.5 Anubis
Temple1 6  Round one repeated&#58; Vael stepping and Anubis swinging low &#40;LC/FSS&#41; 4-.5 Anubis
Temple1 7  Vael swings low but is a tad late as Anubis goes for the win &#40;TH/LC&#41;  5-.5 Anubis


Temple2 1  It's an IMP moment  &#40;TH x2&#41; 1 all
Temple2 2   Vael swings high but Anubis is dropping  &#40;FDK/HC&#41; 2-1 Anubis
Temple2 3  A trade...good for one but not the other &#40;HC/LC&#41; 3-2 Anubis
Temple2 4  Anubis braces and pays for it up high &#40;SH/HC&#41; 3 all
Temple2 5   And we dance...the night away  &#40;FSS x2&#41;
Temple2 6  It's something...what that something is I don't know &#40;SH/FCP&#41;
Temple2 7  This match is already longer than the last one and the Baron is at match point &#40;TH/HC&#41; 4-3 Anubis
Temple2 8  And....we continue as he moves and she drops &#40;FSS/FDK&#41;
Temple2 9  They must like these moves&#58; we see Vael moving away but in the direction of Anubis' low swing yet again &#40;LC/FSS&#41;  5-3 Anubis

In two duels, Anubis keeps the barony. Well defended Anubis and well tried, Vael.

When asked of his alignment, and I quote "Renegade still. The thought of a has-been that never was being Overlord appalls me. "
