The Tournament of Pariahs

Duel of Guns' second tournament is coming soon, on Saturday, May 10th at 8:30pm [EST]: The Tournament of Pariahs! As this is the sport's first season and we will not have enough fighters ranked Pariah to hold a true tournament, the top six ranked duelists will receive public invites after the end of regulation dueling for Week Six. That's next week, so make sure to come out next week and fight for your right to PARTY, Pariah-style.

With several ties in place after the slaying of Badtooth this week, the following seven (instead of six) gun-fighters are invited to take part in the Tournament of Pariahs on Saturday, May 10th at 8:30pm [EST]! If you are on this list, you have until regulation dueling begins at 9:30pm on Wednesday, May 7th, to express your intent to partake in the tournament. If you don't sign up by that time, your invitation may be offered to other gun-fighters depending on the rankings after Week Seven of regulation!

Tournament Format and Prizes (updated: 5/8)

The Tournament of Pariahs will begin with three round-robin matches in a row for each duelist. The top-seeded gun-fighter will duel four times, but their worst duel will not count towards their overall score.

Match-ups for the round-robin will be set based on seeding. A single championship duel between the top two finishers will take place after the round-robin. Round-robin ranking will be assessed by totaling up Match Points according to the following formula:

Match Points = (number of points scored, up to a maximum of 6 points) + (3 X number of match wins) + (3 X number of wounding shots earned against opponents).

The third place finisher in the Round-robin portion of the tournament will receive their choice of the following rewards: two wins-over-losses, or one use of Chaff Rounds. The second place finisher will receive their choice of the following rewards: three wins-over-losses, or two uses of Chaff Rounds. The winner of the Tournament of Pariahs will receive their choice of the following rewards: five wins-over-losses, or three uses of Chaff Rounds.

Registration has ended, and Kate Palmer's place in the tournament has been granted to the criminal and RDL prisoner known as Inmate! Brackets and line-up information will be posted at the start of the tournament this Saturday, but this week's regulation dueling did shake up the final seedings for our Tournament of Pariahs!

Will fan favorite and our most prolific gun-fighter, Ace, win and be the first duelist to earn the rank of Pariah? Will his crazed fans throw articles of clothing at him during the duels? Will Ace fever be in the house?

Will the recently absent Vern show the same dominance that he did in the early weeks of the season? Can he back up his promise to become the first Desperado by sealing up the rank of Pariah on Saturday?

Being the only undefeated warrior on the list, Judge Fredd has won five duels (three against either Vern or Ace), and has not allowed more than just 2.5 points scored against him in a single match; he's averaging keeping his opponents to 1.5 points per match. Can anyone stop him?

Cait, having only shown her face in tournaments and special events, is still managing to climb her way up the ladder with some gutsy performances. After coming so close to winning The Young Gun Tournament back in Week One, will she finally turn the corner and break through to the top?

Delilah's fighting in the Battleground has been hit and miss, but tenacity has earned her a place in the tournament. Will her luck change with some new ammunition and a new tournament?

Will the unknown Inmate, whose only loss thus far was to the undefeated Judge Fredd, continue to stink up our arena with his baby-stealing, evil ways? Will the helmet come off? Will someone put this villain down for good? Or will evil triumph in the tournament?

Will the Mystery Woman known as Frost show the same grit and resolve that she did when she blew the scales off of the dragon Badtooth? If so, will we be seeing a lot of shotgun action?
