Among the noble daughters of House T'Sarran, Faeryl was always the outsider. While other drow women mastered spells and political intrigue, she found her calling in the raw violence of combat. Her choice to become a warrior initially brought whispers of shame – until Lolth herself took notice of her brutality.

Unlike the typical drow warriors who fought together, Faeryl worked alone. House T'Sarran used her as their solitary hunter, sending her deep into the Underdark's most treacherous caverns to eliminate threats and gather resources. She stalked the darkness with deadly intent and glee in her heart, leaving mangled bodies of hook horrors, mind flayers, and rival drow in her wake. To name a few. When surface raids or assassinations were needed, she was their silent killer, emerging from the shadows to wreak havoc before disappearing again into the depths below.

Lolth delighted in Fae's savagery, blessing her with dark gifts that only fueled her lethality. Each successful hunt earned more of the Spider Queen's favor, and soon even the priestesses who once mocked her fell silent. Of course, it wouldn't have changed the fact that they would never respect her for falling so far from her predestined path, a matron mother in the making. That would have been worse than death. But in the solitude of her hunts, away from the watchful eyes of her house and goddess, she began to question everything.

She saw how Lolth used her as a weapon and a puppet, how her "blessings" were really chains. The Spider Queen's approval was nothing more than a collar collar attached to a leash she might never break free of, and the more time Faeryl spent alone in the wilds of the Underdark, the more she longed for freedom.

When a rival house struck at House T'Sarran, Fae was far from home. She returned to find her house under attack, but instead of fighting to defend it, she saw her chance to run, uncaring that she'd be labeled a heretic with a target on her back. Using the same skills that had made her such an effective hunter, she slipped away into the deeper tunnels where few dared to wander. For weeks she prowled upward through the darkness, treating the journey to the surface as a rebirth of sorts.

For a while she roamed the surface world much like she had the underdark – alone, lethal, but finally free. However, Rhydin had a funny way of changing all of that.
