April 2024 Archmage Tournament
The April Archmage Tournament will be held on Sunday, April 14th at 8:00pm Eastern! The format will (likely) be double elimination (depending on entrants), and late entrants have no more than 5 minutes to arrive. Seeding will begin at 8:05pm, and casting will begin at 8:10pm.
Seeding will be based on the most recent RoK rankings. Early registration will cut off on Friday, April 12th at 8:55pm ET. Any late registrants or walk-ins will automatically be ranked below early registrants. Registrants tied with the same ranking will be seeded by WoL.
Second place will also take home an additional prize in the form of the Keeper's Blessing.
Keeper's Blessing
1. Allows the wielder of this grant the ability to use a special one time use Elemental Fury crystal within a challenge against a Keeper. This crystal will allow its wielder the use of Elemental Fury up to three times within a challenge (should the challenge go to 3 full duels). The power of the Elemental Fury Crystal can only be used once per match. The Keeper's Blessing is available for use until the next Archmage Tournament.
- or -
2. Allows the wielder to submit the Blessing to the Duel of Magic staff to be redeemed for a Challenge Grant that can be awarded to any non-Sorcerer duelist of their choice. This grant will allow its wielder to challenge one of the four elemental keeper titles so long as the keeper is not under a grace period. This grant must be used within 14 days.
Please post your registrations as replies to this thread. Good luck everyone!
(( Should 2nd place go to a current Elemental Keeper, they can only select the second option to give the grant away, and cannot select the EF crystal since they're already a Keeper.
This is a reminder that we do have a 5 minute casting limit each round in order to try and keep the tourney from running too late. In the case anyone needs more than 5 minutes for an urgent/special circumstance, please alert the caller, opponent, and the room so that they know you need a few minutes and will return asap. Thanks! ))

From a field of six (Rachael, Dris, Collie, Rhys, Droet, and Gillette), top seed Rachael Blackthorne reigned supreme, going undefeated on the night to take the right to challenge Archmage Matt Simon for the Celestial Citadel. Second place finisher Colleen MacLeod took home the Keeper's Blessing.

A thick white sheet of parchment was tacked to the corkboard with a black and gold pushpin. The message that it contained was written in an exceptionally precise left-handed script in black ink. A seal in black and gold wax with the impression in the wax of a panther head was at the bottom of the parchment.
After consultation with the newest DiArchLord about the challenge details, the upcoming challenge for the custodianship of the Celestial Citadel will take place on Thursday, April 25th at 10PM by the Eastern clock tower. The honourable Eden Parker will preside over this challenge.

Re: April 2024 Archmage Tournament
This challenged happened tonight at Twilight Isle and it was a doozy!
Our challenger tonight was Rachael Blackthorne, current holder of the key to the Tower of Earth! Defending the title tonight was the current DiArchLord, Matt Simon, looking for his first defense of the title! With the Archmage choosing to fight on Ring Olympus, the fighters took up their godly perches and began!
The first fight was a shocker -- Matt quickly rung himself up a significant lead. While Rachael got herself on the board, Matt was the first to reach match point, hitting it in Round 7 with Rachael trailing three points behind. It was starting to look like an easy first win for the Archmage! But he couldn't close it, and in Round 9, Rachael started mounting a comeback bringing the power of her earthly tower behind her, and by Round 11, she had stormed into a small lead! It took just one more round for her to close it out, picking up the first fight in a daring and surprising comeback!
FINAL: Rachael Blackthorne def. Goldglo, 6 - 4.5 in 12 rounds.
Our fighters wasted no time in heading into the second fight! Once again, the Archmage was first on the board, trying a little physical contact to stop Rachael's momentum. And while it worked, this time Rachael remained on his heels the whole fight. By the fifth round, Matt traded his way to and was again the first to arrive at match point! This time he did not mess around, closing it out over Rachael's powerful energy attack.
FINAL: Goldglo def. Rachael Blackthorne, 5 - 3 in 6 rounds.
Once more barreling ahead, Matt was first on the board for the third fight in a row. But in the second and third rounds, Rachael used her green energy to blow past him, taking over the lead. Her momentum never stopped. She reached match point in round five with a commanding three-point lead. But Matt was fighting on -- marshaling all of his skills, he managed to physically toss Rachael -- closing the point gap between them. But it was not enough. With her cat-like reflexes, Rachael landed light on her feet, and returned fire with a green volley of energy that exploded into fireworks, sealing the final point.
FINAL: Rachael Blackthorne def. Goldglo, 6 - 4.5 in 7 rounds.
In an incredibly exciting challenge, Rachael takes the win and the Celestial Key, shortening Matt Simon's title to DiLord!
Well-reigned, Matt! And congratulations to Rachael on her second possession of the Celestial Key!
