Zack headed out to the party to enjoy the beautiful day at the beach, and to have some fun.

So sleep soundly in your beds tonight
For judgement falls upon you at first light
I'm the hand of God
I'm the dark messiah
I'm the vengeful one

Maggie spent a good part of the day out on the open water with Gussie and Tommy. She introduced them to a dolphin pod that lived not too far from Seaside Beach. The dogs were able to sun themselves on a small boat during swim breaks. Maggie took a few deep dive swims, throughout the day, thanks to her dolphin pals. She joined one of the Frisbee games that was going on at the party. Sparks got into the act snagging a Frisbee and doing his best to sling it with a few hard shakes of his head.

Few things could pull the ballerina from the stars these days but a friendly invite to the ocean and the promise of sun, sand and smiles was one of them. Perhaps as predicted, Josette did not arrive at the beach at the break of dawn nor was she fashionably late what with the promise of delicious food and all day drinks. When she arrived, Josette was the picture of sea, air and sun. Her dark hair was tucked beneath a ball cap and flip flops were flipped off to be tucked away into her tote just as soon as she set foot on the warm sand.

She found an empty spot on the sand near enough to the food and drinks, the dj and dance floor and claimed it with a snap and unfurl of her large beach blanket. Down went the tote before her tank top and little denim shorts followed suit to reveal the bikini beneath. No wetsuit today, she’d brave the waves refreshed by the water on her skin. The waves were just big enough not to excite her rather than scare her and she was eager to join her friend out in the surf. She selected a board whose graphics reminded her of Hokusai’s Great Wave at Kanagawa. She’d first seen the work of art at a show in Tokyo and the power of the ocean depicted in the image had stayed with her. Though don’t ask her specifics about the board itself…none of that mattered right?

Josie jumped in with gusto and was eager to put her previous lessons to work as she paddled out alongside her friend, Dax, and dutifully waited for a good wave. With the Marine’s encouragement echoing in her ears, Josie paddled hard and pushed…popped?...herself up to her feet. The first attempt saw her twisting about in a flailing attempt to keep her barefoot balance on the board only to tumble sideways and bail with a jump. Undeterred…stubbornly so in the face of Kincaid’s grin…Josie paddled back and set in on a second wave. This time her training paid off, ballet and board, and the talented dancer gained her feet without issue and even managed to surf in a straight line all the way into shore till the wave petered out and rolled up onto the beach beneath her. A few more lessons from Dax and the others and she’d be shredding in no time!

But till then Josie was content for several more waves and then a growing hunger was demanding attention. She’d make sure to sample all vegetarian culinary delights, stacking plates full of food before retiring back to her beach blanket to stuff herself alongside friends. When the breeze picked up Josie would don her shorts and tank top again before working some warmth back into her limbs on the dance floor and make sure to catch up with Cane once he dropped in later in the evening. How crazy did one have to be to surf after the sunset?! Still, once Dax came in and joined her the blanket filled up fun and friends and food. It was the perfect way to kick off summer.
