Challenge for New Haven

Post by Stitch »

A second response to the bounty against Anubis was scrawled in frightfully neat (if a bit drippy) script across the back of an old challenge, and pinned with no less than twenty seven cocktail swords:

I'll have round 2 if there is one

Because of this being a challenge queue, the challenge is automatically accepted and the following scheduling rules apply:

Additional pending challenges MUST be fought at a rate no less than one per week (7 days) until the pending challenges are depleted. The week begins once the challenge is officially completed i.e. when the Official Standings are Updated.

A sallow parchment was pinioned over the notice, albeit translucent to the scrutiny of a candlelight. The writing was more akin to Oriental calligraphy, dipping and weaving like the flight of a mosquito.

Little puppy jackal came to the tombs with a grumble in his belly. Little puppy jackal got all dirty, trying to eat. Little puppy jackal should have noticed the shadow on the wall of the tomb. Little puppy jackal should have seen that it wasn't his.

It was bigger.

Challenge accepted

Also impaled by the rust-sodden blade was a sagging bag of coarse felt, the weight threatening to rend the fabric from its incarceration. Inside was 5,000 silver coins.

Additionally, right on the bottom of Anubis' note:

Here be monsters.
I'll be waiting if the Reaper don't get you first.

14th April following Anya's match
Mr. Steal Your Girl will call mine too

In sparkly blue ink:

This is the funniest thing I've read all day. I know what I'm doing on Friday night now.

I was definitely there tonight to watch Anubis taken on his double-header of a challenge queue for the Baronial ring of New Haven! Things started out spicily enough with a quick climb to three for our intrepid first challenger, Anya, but things stalled out for her from there onwards! Anubis made it onto the board and, after a couple of stalemated rounds, he climbed his way to a 5-3 win!

After that, Stitch climbed out from under the bar with a big honkin’ wrench and started swinging it at Anubis, who quite frankly dominated the first half of the match with a flurry of strong moves at stronger times, but the fatigue caught up to the ol’ Egyptian in the end, and after a single block started a domino effect, Stitch made it all the way back up from a single point to a round-13 win at 6.5-5!

Well-reigned, Anubis! Well-tried, Anya! And well-won, Stitch! Also, Stitch declared himself Loyal so there's that!
