2023 Duel of Magic Title Update (April Fools)

Hello all!

After long discussion the Duel of Magic staff have decided to retire the Elemental Towers. While we understand their long history within the game it cannot be ignored that the Elemental Towers of Fire, Water, Air, and Earth share similarities with the Duel of Fists Opals FireStar, IceDancer, MoonBeryl, and Pathfinder. With the idea of promoting differences within the sports the Elemental Towers will be replaced with Zodiac Domains and the Keepers of these towers changed to "Constellation Guardians".

Each of these Domains will be located in a constellation within the vast sky of Twilight Isle and are as followed:

Zodiac of the Tiger


Zodiac of the Phoenix


Zodiac of the Turtle


Zodiac of the Dragon

Because of the changes to the Duel of Magic titles the rules for Title Holder Activity will be updated.

Currently it reads:

In order to remain a Keeper, the duelist must complete a regular (non-tournament, non-challenge) duel at least once per cycle. Activity requirements are greater for Keepers due to holding one of the only four challengeable titles in the sport. If these requirements are not met, the Keeper will be stripped of their title, and it will be offered in a tournament, usually the next All-Ranks Tournament. It is not required for the Keeper to remain at the rank of Sorcerer or above, but if they fall below the rank of Sorcerer, they are immediately rendered vulnerable to challenge without any grace period until they regain the rank of Sorcerer.

The updated version will read:

In order to remain a Guardian, the duelist must complete a regular (non-tournament, non-challenge) duel at least once every April 1st. Activity requirements are greater for Guardians due to holding one of the only four challengeable titles in the sport. If these requirements are not met, the Guardian will be stripped of their title, and it will be offered in a tournament, usually the next All-Ranks Tournament. It is not required for the Guardian to remain at the rank of Sorcerer or above, but if they fall below the rank of Sorcerer, they are immediately rendered vulnerable to challenge without any grace period until they regain the rank of Sorcerer or they defeat Karma in a duel in front of Orgrimmar on Classic World of Warcraft.

Elemental Fury will also be changed to "COSMIC CRUSH!" with the bot code CC!!! (Three !'s will be required to use it).
