Denizens of the duels!

Tonight, it was my most esteemed honor and pleasure to be chosen to officiate this challenge! Also known as Double Simon Challenge #2, or as I like call it: Attack of the Simons! The Sequel! We met in the Outback this evening and were treated to a glorious set of matches that made it all the way to three! Hopefully our Diamond is pleased!

The first match was decided in the Fern, which demanded our combatants fight in its fronds. Eregor struck for first blood, but Matt was quick to tie it up and then take the lead in the next two rounds. The defending Opal worked it back to a tie, but by the fifth round the challenger took a lead that he never gave up. Matt climbed to match point despite a trade, and then took the match at a closing score of 5 to 3 in 7 rounds.

The second match took place in a regular ring named in honor of Magic’s dear Max. Our combatants started off with a bang, each scoring a point in the first round. Matt was quick to grab the lead in the second and held onto it for quite a while. It looked like a sure win for Old Man Simon, until Eregor mounted a spectacular comeback in the sixth round. By then he had tied the score and then took the lead and never looked back. The Opal secured the win of the second match with a final score of 5 to 3 in 8 rounds.

The third and final match was an intense spectacle to behold! Eregor took the early lead right out of the gate, multiplied it by two, and held onto it until Matt managed to get on the board in round four. They tied things up in the sixth, until Eregor took the lead again immediately after. Matt refused to give up, however, and fought hard for twice as many rounds until they brought us to SUDDEN DEATH (and yes I played Karma’s song) in the eleventh! This stalemate hovered around for one more round until Eregor closed things out with a final winning score of 5 to 4 in 13 rounds.

Well tried on that challenge, Matt! Congratulations on your defense, Eregor!
