(TW Drowning)

Lillian did not bring an umbrella for her journey out to the beach. She had never really seen the ocean close up before and considered going into it despite the poor weather conditions. She made her way out to the beach in jeans, her green crop top, and her black combat boots. Her long green hair whipped around her, as she walked down the empty boardwalk. Suddenly, there she was, right in front of the most water she had ever seen in her life. In front of the endless expanse of water, she collapsed. She pulled herself into a sitting position and just stared out, into the nothingness.

Lillian stood up after a half hour of just sitting in the thunder and lightning. She never learned how to swim but something felt right about throwing herself into the water. Fully clothed, the elven woman threw herself off the pier into the black water below. The warm summer rain had ensured her plunge would be comfortably heated. The issues arose when she tried to make her way back to the surface. Lily could only flail her body without any coordination as gravity pulled her further into the depths. Gasps for air were met with unending gulps of water that slowly choked her. Her body fought her as she struggled to try and climb through the water back towards the surface. The burning in her lungs began slowly before growing into a fire she had never felt.

It wasn't until the panic had bubbled up into a roiling scream that nature kicked in. Her body shimmered in the murky water and she retook her true form. immediately, when she returned to dragon form, the burning in her lungs subsided and her skin began absorbing oxygen from the water. It took some getting used to but just like flying, moving around through the water, but it felt somewhat natural, despite the stinging salt on her wounded wing. The water thrummed with light pulses of arcane energy from the scars on her front legs. The water helped to ease the pain each time a jolt of arcane potential ripped through her scars. Something didn't feel right about just returning to the coast, she needed a change of perspective and there was no better time than then. The young green dragon rose from the water, and with a beat of her wings she entered the air. In the sky above Rhy'Din, a green dragon crossed from the beaches to the deep woods.

Laeldran found the same clearing she had been two days prior. She circled the area before her legs touched the ground. Dripping from the wound on her wing, blood stained the earth below. Her impact with the ground was many things most of which were painful. Home was the ground where the dragoness stopped moving for ten minutes after connecting with the forest floor. She lifted herself off the ground with consideration for the scars on her front legs. Pain was barely a factor to the weariness that leeched it's way into every inch of the dragon's body. The shimmering effect was a product of the weariness and her body painstakingly transformed into the smaller elven form; it required less energy to maintain. Laying in the middle of the woods, Lily managed to pull her phone from her pocket and send a text before passing out in the woods.
