Festival of Lights Underway!

To celebrate the annual festival of lights, this week a number of locales within the city will be offering everything you need to make your holiday season festive and bright. In the old market, the Goddess Lakshmi blesses festival goers with wishes of wealth, abundance and good fortune. In Seaside, the bathing ritual of Abhyanga Snan allows patrons to rid themselves of evil and everything negative. On Thursday (Nov 4th), Four Points in Old Temple will host an open air dance featuring musicians from around the region and even off world. Wear your best clothes and pray to Lakshmi as lamps are lit outside homes and temples and diyas are set adrift on the river. The evening will wind down with fireworks over Dockside. Friday and Saturday will be days for love and family, to celebrate and bless those you call family, no matter if they are blood or chosen.
