The more you know.

Post by Myra »

It was roughly three o'clock on the streets of Rhydin. The city of horrors and wonder. The place where both dreams and nightmares come alive. It was old, probably much older then some worlds out there. It was also a hub for the multiverse it appears. All sorts of beings and creatures gather here. From heros to terrorists, you can find it all here. Even a lover, that’s how Myra and Jackson met. A hero and his damsel in distress, well for a week or two at least.

After Jackson killed Blight, Myra's mental state got better. Well for the most part anyways, she still had an immense phobia of blood and guts. Especially after what Lillith showed her, nearly shattering her mind. If Jackson didn’t pull her away in time, who knew what would have happened. Then when he became Minister of Public Safety he was busier than ever. Having to do some paperwork in his new found office, or fighting off a demon the Watch wasn’t able to deal with. Sure she could hang out with Tank, especially since she can speak abyssal for some god damn reason. It’s just that she wanted to do something on her own. Like going shopping, and seeing the sights Rhydin had to offer. She has done some training with Jackson for the past few weeks, so at the very least a common street thug wouldn't be a problem for her.

So down the streets she wondered, passing by so many different buildings and people. Some of them were impressive feats of architecture. Large, and imposing in design. Usually being the type of building the powerful types like to hang out in. Then there were the tiny shops and restaurants, each one of them having their own unique charm. From a shop that sells magic plants, to a restaurant that serves dishes from animals that were once thought to be extinct. Then came the people of Rhydin, to call this place a freakshow was an understatement. All around her on the sidewalk was a circus of beings. There was a devil haggling with a witch over the price of a magic book. An angel, and a truian chatting over a cup of coffee. This place had it all, if that was a good thing or not, I’ll leave that up to you.

So when a group of armored figures approached her she didn’t really notice at first. Myra is actually pretty short, only being 4,1. She has a petite build, and an impish face that was usually covered in a mop of blonde hair, something that even Jackson has told her to take care of. She was wearing jeans and a t-shirt today. Figuring it’s time to put on something besides her dresses.

The two armored figures were a man and a woman, wearing what looked like classic knight armor on their chest, along with having metal gauntlets, and metal greaves. The interesting thing about them was the isgna on the right breast of their armor. It was a shield overlooking what looked like a void. As for the man and the woman themselves. The man was tall, roughly 6,4, he had a strong build. Looking as if he could wrestle a bear. His face was also scarred, a long line running down from his left eye to his chin. Perhaps being a claw mark from a bear he actually wrestled. The woman on the other hand was roughly 5,4, having a fairly lean build. She was different from the man, unlike his eyes hers had this dark calculation in them. Always thinking about what will happen next, who she needs to kill to get the job done.

When the armored duo finally reached Myra by getting in front of her they stopped her in her tracks. That’s when finally the woman spoke, her voice calm and methodical, as if this was an integration. “Do you happen to be Myra by any chance?” That was the question that was going to change everything, setting off a chain of events that neither Jackson or Myra could stop. “Uh Yes! I am Myra! It is nice to meet you!” she said rather excitedly, something that caused the woman to chuckle. “Heh, you are just as energized as the report said you would be.” “Report?” “Yes my dear, the report we gathered on you.” “Wait, you guys have a report on me?” The woman then smiled a malicious smile, like a cat playing with a mouse. “We do, it’s not as long as Jackson’s mind you. Though that’s to be expected. He is our main subject of interest. You just happened to come along and got close to him. So we had to learn about you as well, well as much as we can with how you lived in the woods for so long.” Myra was actually a bit confused. What did they mean when they said subject of interest? What did they want with her? And what did they want with Jackson? “Why is he your subject of interest though?” “Oh? Do you not know what your dear Jackson is? Heh, you poor thing, you don’t even know what you're dating.” “Wait what? I know what he is, He is a nice caring man. He helped me and so many others.” “Oh honey, did you ever bother to think as to why he’s such a good fighter? Why does he have the power he has? Or why did he know how to kill all of those terrible things?” “Well uh not really, but-” The armored woman cut her off “He's a good man, he protects others. That is what you were going to say right? Well yes that is true for right now, he is a kind hearted man. The only problem is that it won’t last. We know much more about him than you do dear, and believe me. People can change, and for some it’s for the worse.”

Myra was just left there not really knowing how to respond, thinking about what the woman said. “Why are you telling me this? “Cuase, we just wanted to let you know. After all, a man shouldn’t keep secrets from his woman. Especially when those secrets are about what he truly is.” The woman, and her man started to walk away while Myra was thinking. She only got a few feet before Myra snapped back to attention and called out to the woman “Wait how-” And she was quickly cut off once again. “How would you contact us if you wanted to learn more about your man? You just need this card honey.” The woman then pulled out what looked like a business card from out of nowhere, going over to Myra to place it into her hands. It was jet black except for six white words, them reading “I wish to break the illusion.” when Myra got the card the lady started to walk off again, so Myra tried to open her mouth to speak. Only to get cut off once again. “How do you use it? Repeat the phrase three times, and me, and Brutus will come over to chat. To finally show you the truth. So call us when you’re ready hun.” And with that the duo was gone, leaving behind a confused Myra clutching the card. She’s gonna have a lot of questions for poor Jackson. Wondering what he hasn’t told her.
