May 2021 Archmage Tournament
The May Archmage Tournament will be held on Sunday, May 9th at 8:00pm Eastern! The format will (likely) be double elimination (depending on entrants), and late entrants have no more than 5 minutes to arrive. Seeding will begin at 8:05pm, and casting will begin at 8:10pm.
Seeding will be based on the most recent RoK rankings. Early registration will cut off on Friday, May 7th at 8:55pm ET. Any late registrants or walk-ins will automatically be ranked below early registrants. Registrants tied with the same ranking will be seeded by WoL.
Please post your registrations as replies to this thread. Good luck everyone!
(( This is a reminder that we do have a 5 minute casting limit each round in order to try and keep the tourney from running too late. In the case anyone needs more than 5 minutes for an urgent/special circumstance, please alert the caller, opponent, and the room so that they know you need a few minutes and will return asap. Thanks! ))
Second place will also take home an additional prize in the form of the Keeper's Blessing.
Keeper's Blessing
1. Allows the wielder of this grant the ability to use a special one time use Elemental Fury crystal within a challenge against a Keeper. This crystal will allow its wielder the use of Elemental Fury up to three times within a challenge (should the challenge go to 3 full duels). The power of the Elemental Fury Crystal can only be used once per match. The Keeper's Blessing is available for use until the next Archmage Tournament.
- or -
2. Allows the wielder to submit the Blessing to the Duel of Magic staff to be redeemed for a Challenge Grant that can be awarded to any non-Sorcerer duelist of their choice. This grant will allow its wielder to challenge one of the four elemental keeper titles so long as the keeper is not under a grace period. This grant must be used within 14 days.
(( Should 2nd place go to a current Elemental Keeper, they can only select the second option to give the grant away, and cannot select the EF crystal since they're already a keeper. ))

Re: May 2021 Archmage Tournament
In honor of the most recent (this past Wednesday) holiday, we'll be continuing the celebration with some delicious eats from Puebla!
Get some Mole Poblano, which is a delicious blend of chile, chocolate, toasted seeds and nuts, and so much more, mole poblano is the royalty of Mexican sauces! Pour it over some roasted chicken or turkey and served with rice! There are also chalupas, served with festive red or green salsas referencing the flag of Mexico. And some molotes which are deep fried masa stuffed with chorizo (or cheese in our menu's case)! Great for snacking!
Grab a freshly baked cemitas (a sesame sandwich bun) and stuff it with fixings for a delicious sandwich, or partake in the national dish from Puebla, Chiles en Nogada (a dish of poblano chiles stuffed with picadillo topped with a walnut-based cream sauce, pomegranate seeds and parsley, served at room temperature).
For the sweet tooth there's heart shaped churros, apple caramel empanadas and conchas (sweet breads that look like sea shells)!
To wash it all down we have pomegranate and pineapple margaritas as well as traditional lime margarita jello shots! (All with non-alcoholic options!)

Re: May 2021 Archmage Tournament
Posters went up all over the City the day before the Archmage Challenge between new mother Mallory and new Baron Anya, inviting the citizens to celebrate both august occasions. However, quietly, the combined forces of a whole lot of people planned and executed in two days the real reason for the party - a surprise ceremony and reception for the newly-married Ettyn and Anya de la Rose!
The Isle was transformed the day of the challenge with a bevy of flowers, fabric, and “formalish” place settings. Romance abounded as blue, in all its hues, framed the Midnight Supreme rose that honored the love between the pair.
While the bulk of the “formal” ceremony took place in the incredible Twilight Pavilion after the conclusion of the Challenge for Archmage, elementals from at least two Towers ferried guests down to the beach for the waiting feast and dancing. Lanterns dotted the beach, flickering soft light and warmth for those who wished to take a walk or simply enjoy a moment near the water with their loved one. Through the shallows, a small nook and canopy were set up for those who wanted an extra-romantic (and photographed!) moment.
The beach itself contained an eclectic mix of formal and casual, from make-your-own-coconut-cocktails to vases of dark blue roses to bedecked baskets that contained hats and flip flops (for those beach-walks) and other assorted favors befitting the setting.
Near the lavish bar at the center of the clearing was a long table with two seats at the head, allowing for Anya and Ettyn and all of their friends a space to eat, drink, and be merry together!
The cake, set to the side on a table all on its own, held a little magic for the evening; each slice was perfectly prepared, light and moist, in the flavor of the guest’s choice! Chocolate might reign for some while others preferred a carrot variety or even cheesecake and it delightfully delivered!
Near the cake was another table, a place reserved for the be-spelled wish book and writing implements so guests could write wishes for the happy couple. Mart Di’Luna, master mage, enchanted the pages with minor wish magic that granted at least some measure of the loving thoughts written within to the pair. In the front corner was penned Mart’s own wish for the couple, acting perhaps as a little bit of insurance: May your wishes be fulfilled with neither clause nor caveat to twist your joys or bespoil your blessings.
On the beach of the lagoon near the Tower of Water, far from activity, stood a Bedouin style tent provided by Morgan LaFey, white fabrics with deep blue embellishments in embroidered roses parted to reveal what awaits the happy couple within. A large bed in the middle with white covers was scattered with the petals of a deep blue midnight supreme rose, and a bottle of expensive wine lay nestled into a deep blue throw pillow among many others of white and the same cerulean shade. To the left upon entering sat a low table surrounded by thematic cushions, laid out with delicate finger foods and sweet treats of all sorts. Strawberries settled around a small chocolate fountain, tiny bites of cheesecake on silver picks. Two glasses stood next to a bucket of ice containing a bottle of champagne in the middle, seemingly all on a bed of dark blue roses. To the right of the entrance was a pair of massage tables, each with a pair of neatly folded pajamas and plush white robes. On the back of both robes is embroidered a large blue rose.
The lighting of the tent was not done with electric fairy lights, as is traditional, not candles or any warm-colored light. Instead, there seemed to be spouts and columns of slowly moving water here and there containing bio-luminescent jellyfish, gently washing everything in an ethereal sort of glow. The moment the couple enters the tent, the stays keeping it open loosen, and a dense fog curls around the tent for the night, obscuring it from general view to better provide the privacy a newly wed pair might desire.
