Challenge for the Tower of Fire

Traversing the territory of the tower of fire was not an easy task and it required binding several spirits of frost around him to keep the Magician unaffected by the extreme heat of the lava and active volcano. He made the trek forward with his staff in one hand and when he reached the edge of the lake of lava that surrounded the tower, he set the staff in the magma ground and lowered himself respectfully, though not quite in a kneel.

In voice augmented by his magic he called forth to the sprites of flame the inhabited the area. "Faeries of flame, servants of the Keeper of Fire, bring to the Keeper and Queen of May this message, I, The Sublime Bellamere, Instrument of the Fates, Traveler of the hidden paths, Interpreter of the Recondite signs, and Conjurer Extraordinaire hereby challenge Eden Parker for Custodianship of the Tower of Fire and all the secrets it holds. Let it be known that there is no animosity in this challenge. It is motivated by my desire to keep a promise and my ever yearning desire to further my quest for knowledge. It has become readily apparent that I have much still to understand about the primal gift of Prometheus and I would do so as it's keeper if possible."

Gazing across that lake of fire at the tower made of a multitude of flames, the Sublime Bellamere, focused his magical might on the immediate area. Fingers reached out with intricate somatics, tugging and pulling upon the leylines and telluric currents that made up the twilight isle. He tapped into those primal forces and touched on his knowledge as a former student of the Tower of Earth. Incomprehensible energies and divergent tendrils of potentiality rippled forth, cords of arcane sorcery whispering around the man. With a tap to the ground with his staff, he caused a pillar of obsidian to rise from the ground looking very much like an upside down top hat and stand as a marker of his challenge.

In addition to all this a beautifully written note in flowing calligraphy is attached to the official duel of magic cork board announcing Bellamere's intention to challenge for the Tower of Fire.

The flame faeries hadn't seen much of Keeper of Fire, Eden Parker. After a day or so chattering among themselves, they decided it was best to pass the note to someone else. The note went to a goblin who was pretty proud to have received the duty! Out they went through the portal and into Rhydin proper, dodging demons and giant crabs, and trying not to get distracted by the delicious smells coming from Matadero Meat Company. Eventually they found Eden at her apartment in Old Market where she invited them inside for some coconut cream pie while she read the note and drafted her response.

Dear the Sublime Bellamere,

Thank you for your note! I bet there's lots of interesting things in the tower! I hope you get to see them.

Let me know when is good for you and we'll do the thing!

She finished the letter with a hand-drawn smiley face and some stars. Then she sent it back with the goblin along with an extra slice of pie to-go!

The Sublime Bellamere vs. Eden Parker for Tower of Fire

In this fiery match between Conjurer Extraordinaire and Star Pixie, only one would come out victorious! The entire challenge was fought in the ferocious and fiery ring of Tartarus.

The grounds within the ring shake, splitting open and allowing the blackened, craggy levels of Tartarus to grind into place. Seemingly self-contained fires are prevalent throughout the ring, as are small rivers of magma circling around the rising levels of black, smoldering columns and platforms that make up the terrain the Keeper and their opponent must utilize for cover, attack, and defense. The topmost platform is the largest by far, and would seem to accommodate the most conventional styles of combat.

The first match saw the Sublime Bellamere take a quick lead, followed by Cheery-Cherry-Eden tying up the score! It would take five more rounds after that, but with a trade the Sublime Bellamere took the first of victory of the twilight. In the second match, Cheery-Cherry-Eden secured a lead from the start, and after six rounds she popped a sparkly bubble to secure her first fight of the night! In our concluding fight, Bellamere took the first half point, but he would only get another half more when the night was done.

Using many pretty-pink-sparkles, Cheery-Cherry-Eden stays the Keeper of Fire!! Congratulations on your defense Keeper Eden Parker! Well tried Sublime Bellamere!
