The Arena is proud to announce the End of the 2020 Winter Cycle All Ranks Tournament!
All Ranks, title holders included, are eligible to join!
The All Ranks Tournament will take place on March the 29th and begin at 8:15 PM (EST). It is encouraged that participants arrive before 8 so that they can be counted as present and prepared. There will be no activity requirements to join the tournament. Interested in early seeding? Sign up before 8 PM (EST) on Friday, March the 27th and be given early seeding access.
The Winner of the Tournament will receive an elven crown weaved of the finest gold. A translucent crystal is set in the crown. The crystal will collect sunlight if worn during the day and will glow faintly once night falls. Along with the prized crown the All Ranks Tournament winner may choose from a prize from the list below. Two additional wins will also be added to the prize winners collected total at the end of the tournament.

Barony of Dragon’s Gate
“Once known as the 8th Ring. The Dragon’s Gate manor rests in what can only be called the Heart of Rhydin; as the famed Red Dragon Inn sits within its district. The Barony may not be selected by a title holder.”
Overlord Challenge Grant (Test Free)
“Unlike prior tournaments the winner of this grant need not be the rank of Warlord. The winner of this grant will have 14 days beginning the day after the tournament to challenge the Overlord. Normal challenge guidelines must be followed. No special grant holders may intercede during these challenges, nor can the Overlord initiate a Test of Worthiness. This Grant may not be selected by a title holder.”
Twin Elven Blades
“These blades were once wielded by a high elven prince who fiercely defended the wilds in the bygone years of Rhydin history. The blood of many orcs have stained these blades and they glow should one be near.”
Red Dragon Egg
“The remainder of a long forgotten brood. Once thought void of life — It has been recently discovered that the soul of a fierce red dragon lingers within this uncracked shell and through flames may it be born.”
Golden Ring of Invisibility
“Word has it that this item is cursed.. Dark spectors may seek out the wearer for unknown reasons.”
Cloak of Protection
“The lightest of dwarven mythril is weaved between the cloth of this cloak to provide the wearer protection from both nature and foes alike.”
Special Prize: The Talon of Redwin
“The Talon of Redwin will be rewarded as a bonus prize to the highest placed tournament duelist with the rank of Master at Arms, Swordsman, or Commoner after calculating wins gained throughout the night. The Talon is named in honor of one of the Arena's most illustrious and well known duelers, Siera Redwin, past Overlord and Baron of the rings.”
All Duelists will have their recorded wins throughout the night added to their record!

(( OOC: Early Seeding will be based on the Cycle Rankings found on the Duel of Swords Standings page, followed by sign up or walk in time for those that don't pre-register. As this is an All Ranks Tournament, all participating duelists will be fighting at the Warlord Rank: this means participants will be allowed to use up to 4 fancies during their matches. This Tournament will either be Single Elimination or Double Elimination depending on the number of participants. If 10 and above, single elimination. If 9 or below, double.
I can think of no better prizes to give for the last Duel of Swords tournament that I host as its Head Coordinator than these. Tolkien and the worlds he has inspired no doubt have a connection to the Duel of Swords and was/is what sparks the imagination for many of us to this day. With this tournament and what remains of Madness acting as my final part to play as Head Coordinator of Duel of Swords, I’d like to repeat the words said in The Last Goodbye: I bid you all a very fond farewell.
Duel of Swords wouldn’t be where it is right now without all of you. Truly, thank you for all participating and enjoying the game. ))
