Re: Checking the Pulse
Just a few days after the thanksgiving feast, the evening quiet in the club room above the dojo was broken when Yuzuki staggered and swayed her way in from the staircase, having pulled the club Christmas tree out of storage. As in previous years it seemed to never have entered the gate guardian's thoughts that transporting the artificial tree would be easier if she disassembled it. Nevertheless she managed to get it through the doorway and stood as if deliberating which would be the best spot while the top of the tree wavered and tipped. At last, she decided on the corner past the larger couch and stood the tree there. After standing back to take in the overall look, she nodded in satisfaction and texted the rest of Rappapa to tell them it was time to decorate the tree. While waiting for them to arrive she went back to the under stairs storage and got the bag of ornaments, and all five stockings to put up as well.

Re: Checking the Pulse
Meru had a somewhat crumpled piece of paper in hand when she arrived at the shrine to deliver her letter to Santa. Technically a shrimp still, she felt fully justified in presenting such a note to Jin upon finding her on duty at the Zama Shrine. After a bit of conversation, in which Meru was determined to find out if Jin was really able, in her shrine maiden duties was qualified to get her letter to Santa himself, she made it clear that she absolutely still believed Santa was real.
Her somewhat crumpled letter, which had some words crossed out, was still legible and detailed her desire to have her own unique sukajan - something she was still lacking since she had moved back to Kabuki from the Toyako onsen. After handing it over Meru lingered around the shrine for a bit, watching the rabbits (and watching Jin do her chores in the shrine maiden uniform of course!)

Re: Checking the Pulse
On Thursday morning while Yuzuki was doing some work at the dojo Koro the dog stealthily crept out the side door, which Yuzuki hadn't remembered was ajar. The small brown nondescript dog wandered with toenails clicking down the sidewalk, and across the bridge, pausing here and there to sniff at scents found on the way. By the time Yuzuki had discovered his escape and had begun a panicky search, Koro had encountered a distracted goblin on a park bench, a fresh warm pretzel in its paper container next to it. Making his move carefully, he selected the pretzel with his jaws and bolted. Soon the goblin, shouting in outrage was off in a wild pursuit that led all around the soapies in the 3-chome block, past the gates of the Zama shrine and finally under the hedge near the Takamines house where the goblin became temporarily stuck.
That allowed Koro to make a clean getaway, and on his way back to the dojo he devoured the pretzel prize. When he met with a frantic Yuzuki a block away from the dojo the dog found himself picked up and hugged by the very relieved gate guardian. "You better not do that again Koro! I was worried!" she exclaimed. Koro looked guilty, especially while still licking pretzel crumbs off his whiskers. Soon he was carried inside the dojo, and found his resident dog bed to rest on while Yuzuki returned to her chores after making certain all the doors were securely locked.

Kaho showed up on time this time, to Yuzuki's 20th birthday party at Tacos Tacos. She had a pair of birthday gifts to give to Rappapa gate guardian.
Re: Checking the Pulse
Even at Yuzuki's birthday was Asami her normal.. Asami-self. She seemed focused more on the food of the evening then the festivities and seemed fine with the others chatting and having their fun. She did mean mug one of the waitresses though..
When it came to gifts she didn't give hers openly. Only after she and Yuzuki returned home did she hand her a piece of paper with the following written on it:
Good for 10 hugs. Can not be used during meetings or in public.
Outfit for the evening.

K-News ran a puff piece on the Kabuki Street Shinsengumi, dubbed the "Real Life Shinsengumi" during the segment, as a promotion for the upcoming spring TV series Chi no Shinsengumi starring Hanami Harmony's Yuina Hirano.
The segment lasted for 5 minutes with cameras following around Shinsengumi member Yuri. While the beginning of the segment seemed to be on the subject of the Shinsengumi, their choice of uniform while out on patrol, and a recent arrest of "Some gross guy who was pissing on the bench in front of the coscafe", the bulk of the segment had been focused on the snacks that were set up inside the break room of the former Watch station turned Shinsengumi Headquarters.
"The raspberry pastries go the quickest." said Yuri as four other Shinsengumi members began crowding the raspberry treats and snatching what they could.

Tomo was there on time! Maybe just this side of awkwardly early.
With some shopping around, she had managed to turn up an old concert poster she had a feeling that Yuzuki would enjoy...

Re: Checking the Pulse
Reira would arrive a little late, but that's because she had to deal with a PTA meeting as Yuko's stand in while the KSCS principal continued her deserved leave of absence to spend time with her daughter.
Still dressed in her work wear and ready to get her hands on a margarita.. and would be drinking a bit too many throughout the night, which resulted in Tomo needing to carry her home while she blathered on about how much she loved her, when would they be getting married, how she wanted chinese food, and a good deal of other things.. she also kept trying to give Kaho her jewelry too (and will no doubt be calling to retrieve it around lunch the next day).
Before her night as a drunk Reira was able to give Yuzu her gifts.
Included stick on labels.

Banned from drinking! . . . because she was needed to be sober to carry gifts once the night is over. The Rappapa underling made up the lack of drinking by eating a lot of queso and chips.
Included with the card is a 20 dollar JUSCO gift card.

Re: Checking the Pulse
A short video of an altercation between a member of the Watch and a Kabuki local is making its rounds. Yelling made up much of the audio, along with hushed commentary from the person recording it some distance away. The video itself shows a girl in the process of being handcuffed suddenly break away and reach out for a nearby bike and swings with it like a club. One hit didn't seem to be enough and a few more followed, then the bike is tossed before the girl quickly drops down to upholster the injured officers gun, stealing it. The officer is left alone after that since the girl starts running off quickly down the street.

The Zama Shrine is hosting a Cat Adoption Weekend starting Friday, June the 3rd to Sunday, June the 5th.
Stray cats have begun to populate the area about the shrine and with the recent birth of kittens it's time to find them good homes. Bags of cat food are appreciated from those who are interested in helping but cannot adopt.
