Cookies for the Not-So-Cookie Baron

Post by Addie »

Monday morning meant cookie deliveries to Old Temple and after the previous night's Talon tournament, that resulted in iced beard cookies and a batch of cinnamon sugar cookies. She stayed long enough to get a round or two in, likely with Rennard, before continuing on her way to drop the rest of the cookies off at the Annex for that evening's shift.

With another stop added to her list of cookie drop offs, after she shipped off another metric ton of cookies to the Tower of Earth, she brought a stack of boxes by both the Old Temple and Dockside baronial manors.

For Old Temple, Addie dropped off a box of death-by-chocolate cookies, double chocolate cookies with fudgy centers. A second box was filled with milk and cookies fudge.

Since there was so much, she added a note just in case:

Aric,

Don't eat them all at once! Save some for Lirssa or something.

Going to practice at Dockside but I'll catch you next time. Enjoy!

-AA

The next stop was the Dockside manor to deliver two boxes as well. The first was filled with cupcakes decorated like little ghosts, because Halloween was just around the corner! The second contained a dozen brownies, each individually wrapped in cling wrap. Though she stayed for a little swords practice, the inside of the box still had a handwritten note on the lid.

Caution: Only eat one at a time!!!!!!!

That's what the note said. Terry had been left wondering why as she unwrapped one of the individual brownies. "Don't eat 'em all," She called out from the kitchen to Peaches. Taking a bite then speaking out in warning, "I'ma take these to work tom--.." Pausing when she realized something.

".. Nevermind." while grinning a touch.

These weren't the type of snack food you take to work.

A note would be left at Dockside for Addie and Misery whenever they visit again: Make a batch without the something extra to go along with the next. I can't exactly take what you gave me to work.

BTW. Great stuff.

Late Monday afternoon, deliveries were made to both the Old Temple and Dockside baronial manors.

For Old Temple, in the wake of the previous night's jousting event, Addie fashioned a number of fairytale knights and castles into cookies.

For Dockside, the impending autumn meant pumpkin spice and some cute cookies that Terry could take to work without the teachers at St. Mary's getting weed brownie stoned.

Addie,

You made me popular with the class I sat in on thanks to those crayon cookies. Think you could make a few more batches? The other third graders are feeling left out. Don't worry, you'll be paid for your time.

Third graders can be real monsters, so Addie brought a couple batches of little monster cookies straight to St. Mary's for a rare end of the week treat.

No brownies though, so sad.

King,

Hope these help!

A day late, Addie's cookie delivery still managed to make it to both Old Temple and Dockside by Tuesday afternoon. Of course she dragged Nick along too, to show him the baronies as they were when they were little instead of as they were when they grew up. Talk about surreal.

For Old Temple, pumpkin snickerdoodles. Tis the season after all.

For Dockside, white chocolate macadamia nut and a batch of different monster cookies for Terry to take to St. Mary's.

With Nick there, she didn't stay for practice at either baronial manor.

Addie,

Those cookies are nuts.. Get it? Yeah, that dad joke is free. If this keeps up I might start worrying if I lose Dockside.. Peaches may be expecting these every week now.

You also made a bunch of 4th graders happy today. That's a big plus.

By the way. If you have a business card or contact number that you'd like to hand out, toss them my way. There's a few teachers over here asking about these cookies.

Later in the day, a bubble envelope full of cutesy business cards was delivered via courier to the Dockside manor.

On the back they promised no order was too large and offered a phone number but no address.

Nearly inseparable since his arrival, Nick again tagged along for the cookie deliveries. A little rushed, the cookies weren't anything spectacular and the drop off was hasty, but both Old Temple and Dockside got leaf cookies in honor of Autumn.

On such a lovely autumn day, the drop off at Old Temple was quick but delicious. Caramel apple cookies had been left en masse in a white bakery box for Aric and company.

Dockside's cookies on the other hand... didn't quite make it there.

"These are incredible!" Aric exclaimed as he finished off one of the treats. He scribbled a thank you note and had it sent off to Addie. Not that he knew her address, but that's what the people who worked at the Manor were for, right?

"I'm going to need about a month's supply of these. They are way, way too good."

Monday deliveries happened despite the prior week's issues. But rather than Addie, a plain clothes courier made the drop off.

For Old Temple, Addie sent more of the caramel apple cookies from the week before.

While Dockside got an assortment of spooky Halloween cookies
