- 1) I start the chain by complimenting someone and/or praising them
2) The person I complimented and/or praised chooses someone else to compliment/praise
3) The chain continues with as little looping back as possible (try not to pick someone that has already been compliment/praised; if you do, try to pick someone that has not been recently chosen)
Dale Carnegie, author of How to Make Friends and Influence People, encourages people to "be 'hearty in your approbation and lavish in your praise'."
I am not here to influence people, but I think we can all agree that being friends (or at least communicating in a friendly manner and fostering good will) is beneficial to the community as a whole.
There's nothing to be lost by being kinder and encouraging one another, but there is always something to be gained. So let's try it!
