[DUEL Rena]

Tonight a crowd witnessed the challenge between Kimone Kidd, the current overlord, and Johnathan Ecorian Havoick.

The overlord dueled under the colors of purple and black. Her Second was Jinny Chae and her Man of Honor was Michael "Mick" Maloney.

The challenger dueled under the banner of a rising sun of gold over fields of red. His Second was Red ur'Thorne and he had no Lady of Honor.

Before things got started, the Overlord stated that since Cory wasn't around dueling much, he was going to have to prove himself and face a test.

She stated," She nods to Cory and looks to Rena. "Okay so. I've given some thought to this. Cory, I know you've had a long time coming for this match and I'm sorry about it. That has nothing to do with me, though. I've worked pretty hard and went through a lot to get to this position, a lot of fights, and through a lot of people in the tournament, and then past the Overlord herself." She takes a deep breath. "I can't say I've seen you around much, though. You just kinda popped back in and got a duel or two and then are coming out to get my title, and you can do that. You've got the right and all. But I think if you're going to come after the top title in the sport, you should at least have to work for it and earn it a bit. At least in my opinion. So, for that reason, I'm going to opt for testing you."


So Cory ended up facing Jin Chae.

Test 5  Jin reverses her weapon but not in enough time to score  (th/lc) 2 all
Test 6   Nothing here as he moves away and she drops to the floor (fss/dk)
Test 7  Cory attempts to hit Jin but Jin wants no part of it  (th/flp) 3-2 Jin
Test 8  Cory blocks low....Jin goes high (fcp/hc) 4-2 Jin
Test 9  They both brace for naught...taking another break (sh x2)
Test 10  Jin steps away to get closer to the end of the match (cp/ss) 4.5-2 Cory
Test 11  Jin swings high, wanting to give Cory a haircut....he wants to keep his hair though (lp/hc) 4.5-2.5 Jin
Test 12  They both circle the ring....seeking an opening (ss x2)
Test 13  They both are now blocking low  (cp x2)
Test 14  Cory steps away and finds his way blocked by a low swing (ss/lc)
5.5-2.5 Jin

With the champion defeating the challenger, Kimone Kidd retains the Overlord Mantle.
