Challenge for the Tower of Fire

Post by Vanion Shadowcast »

Shadow,

It's time for you to take your pathetic and antique moral code, stop meddling in the affairs of your betters, pack up your bags, and get the Hell out of my Tower.

Consider this my challenge. I'm going to show you what a real elven mage can do when they aren't weighed down with trivial concerns and guilt for being born superior to these mortal sub-species.

I'm coming for the key.

Sincerely,
Vanion

Vanion,

While I may not disagree with the reasoning behind your challenge, you do realize that, if you win, I will have to challenge you out of principle?

Etherean,

One day, you'll come around to my way of thinking. What good is the power to give life and change the world, if not to create something in your own image? Your principles may tend to be conservative and almost sentimental, but on the account of our previous alliances, I won't rebuke your challenge.

You two may speculate and make fools of yourselves all you wish, but here's the business end. This challenge will occur on November the 29th, at 10 PM by RhyDin's clock. Claire has agreed to call.

Bring your notebook, Shadow. This Friday, I'm going to teach you an important life lesson and you'll want to be sure to write it down.

Vanion, what you fail to understand is that even if I lose, it means absolutely nothing to my goals or my power. Do not attempt to draw me into one of your petty corkboard squabbles - just be there at the appointed time Friday.

What if Shadow doesn't know how to read or write? :(

You're proving less fun than I'd hoped, Shadow. I suppose that I will have to wait to have my fun the night of the challenge.

Tonight Shadow and Vanion fought it out for the Tower of Fire. Here's how it went!
Tartarus 1-1! Shadow claims the first point in his quest to defend the Tower of Fire, cutting through whatever nefarious fog Vanion seems to be stirring up. (WB/FF) 1-0 Shadow!
Tartarus 1-2! Plenty of disappearing but not a lot of scoring as Shadow goes on the move and Vanion taps his ghostly side. (DP/GF) 1-0 Shadow!
artarus 1-3! Shadow's doubling his score, bringing the rain down on Vanion's parade. (MS/MB) 2-0 Shadow!
Tartarus 1-4! Vanion is on the board, but Shadow isn't letting him get away unscathed. That is one heck of a light show... (MB/NR) 3-1 Shadow!
Tartarus 1-5! Vanion is closing in on Shadow, coldly eliminating most of the Keeper's lead just like that! (NR/FAB) 3-2.5 Shadow!
Tartarus 1-6! Shadow's nearing the finish line for this one, cracking the whip to ward of whatever creepiness Vanion's got up his sleeve! (FMW/FT) 4.5-2.5 Shadow!
Tartarus 1-7! It's not over yet! Vanion armors up to avoid Shadow's blades. (WB/FAR) 4.5-3.5 Shadow!
Tartarus 1-8! It's now over. Match number one goes to the defending Keeper when Vanion's reflecting can't stop Shadow's ray. (NR/RF)

((Match One Final: Shadowlord .def. Vanion Shadowcast, 5.5-3.5 in 8 rounds))

Tartarus 2-1! Again Shadow claims the first point, getting his mental attack past Vanion's armoring! (MW/AR) 1-0 Shadow!
Tartarus 2-2! It's all tied up in the second match, Vanion's meteors outlasting Shadow's flames! (IMM/FMS) 1 All!
Tartarus 2-3! Vanion's trying to play mind games but Shadow's not giving him a solid target in order to do so. Shadow regains his lead! (FDP/MW) 2-1 Shadow!
Tartarus 2-4! What does Vanion fear? Evidently Shadow has some idea, because he's getting right through that fog. (FFT/FF) 3.5-1 Shadow!
Tartarus 2-5! Shadow's right on the edge here, bolting Vanion before the Necromancer can get into the Keeper's head! (MB/FMW) 4.5-1 Shadow!
Tartarus 2-6! Shadow doesn't close it out just yet, his wall of flame once again failing him! (IMM/DP) 4.5-1.5 Shadow!
Tartarus 2-7! After two matches and fifteen rounds, Shadow retains the Tower of Fire as Vanion's reflective spell fails him to, again, close out the match in favor of the defender. (FF/RF)

((Match Two Final: Shadowlord .def. Vanion Shadowcast, 5-1.5 in 7 rounds))
In two matches, Shadow defends the Tower of Fire! Well won, Shadow. Well tried, Vanion.
