September Archmage Tournament

The September Archmage Tournament will be held on Sunday, September 30th at 8:00pm Eastern! The format will be double elimination, and late entrants have no more than 5 minutes to arrive. Seeding will begin at 8:05pm, and casting will begin at 8:10pm. Seeding will be done via the most recent RoK rankings. Please post your registrations as replies to this thread. Good luck everyone!

Four contestants entered the Archmage tournament tonight: Matt, Xanth, Rachael, and Nayun. The format was double elimination. In the first round, Matt defeated Nayun 5-3 in 7 while Rachael defeated Xanth 5.5-4 in 9.

In the second round, Matt won the winner’s bracket by defeating Rachael 5-3 in 9 while Nayun defeated Xanth 5.5-4.5 in 10.

In Round 3, Rachael and Nayun dueled to determine who would win the loser’s bracket. After 8 rounds, Nayun was the victor with a score of 5-3 in 8.

In the championship round, Nayun quickly took the first match with a score of 5-0.5 in 6 which gave Matt his first loss of the night.

In the second match of the championship, Matt led the entire match until Nayun tied things up in round 8 at 4-4. They were still tied at 5-5 after round 10, but Matt secured the match in round 11 when he nether rayed Nayun’s mind whip with a final score of 6-5 in 11. Matt wins the Archmage Tournament! Matt and Lem will meet in the Archmage challenge later this week!

So there you have it. After just two duels, Lem remains the Archmage for another cycle!
