Dear Xanth,

By virtue of the fact that you've slipped below 20 WoL it seems as though you're open for challenge. And since I don't feel like slogging unsuccessfully through another ArchMage Tournament I've decided to step up to the plate. And really, who wouldn't want fancy digs in the sky?

This challenge is indeed valid and may proceed.

It used to be that the Archmage would just be stripped upon dropping under 20, but with the new rank rules, the Archmage is open to challenge instead.

I have never backed away from a challenge, and this is no exception.

The challenge will take place on Thursday (2/3) at 9 (EST). I believe the challenger has selected an appropriate official.

Holy cow, there was a challenge! I was there! I saw it!

So it went down like this. As always, best of three. The first match was actually relatively one-sided. Harris managed to grab momentum from the get-go and run with it, only allowing Xanth 1.5 points through the whole duel. However, we did get to see two Elemental Furies clash with each other, and that was sweet.

The second duel was much more even and intense. Nobody ever had a dominating lead at any point in the duel. It was within one point at all times. Nobody's fury worked this time; Xanth neutralized Harris's with a mind whip, and Harris dodged Xanth's. It went to Sudden Death, then back to Sudden Death, then on to SUPER Sudden Death, and then Harris won the second duel to take the match.
