The time to determine the next challenger for the Arch Mage has come. The tournament to determine said challenger will be held on Twilight Isle, Tuesday, the 2nd day of March, to start promptly at 9 PM* by the Eastern Clock. All those holding the rank of Mage or Mage Emeritus are invited to enter. Please send your registrations to Thorne. (PM to DUEL Thorne)

Byes, if any will occur, will be passed out according to the RoK rankings. The format will be that of double elimination.

Well, we'll do a more detailed post tomorrow, but for now:

After a very intense match up between Sorel and Sivanna that went two rounds in a double elimination format, Sivanna came out on top and earned the right to challenge Lem for the Celestial Tower!

Congratulations Sivanna and once more a big Thank You to all the mages who attended and competed in the event!

There was a challenge! I was there! I saw it! And it was awesome!!!

Archmage Tournament winner and Keeper of Fire, Sivanna Cyredghymn, met the reigning Archmage and Celestial Keeper, Lem DeAngelo, in Ring Olympus in a best of three format, to determine who would win the title.

The Isle has goblins, and they can do re-enacting, so I'll let them handle the details. I'll summarize real quick. Sivanna soundly won the first duel, 5 to 2.5 in 11 rounds, where Lem soundly won the second, 5.5 to 3.5 in 13. The third duel, however, was much more close, much more nail-biting. There was no lead greater than half a point until the final blow was struck... and the one striking it was Sivanna, cutting Lem's Nether Ray to bits!

Sivanna Cyredghymn is the new Archmage and Celestial Keeper of the Duel of Magic! Congratulations, Sivanna! And congrats also to Lem, for a fine reign and good attempt! This match was truly close!
