Dalamar Semifinals: Anubis Karos vs. Jake Thrash

Post by Cassius Gaius Maximius »

"El Orco"'s win over his longtime friend and dueling ally Morgan le Fay was the most grueling duel of the Dalamar Division's second round. However, while the score was tied on at least two occasions that I checked, Morgan never had the lead. Admittedly surprising to me was the margin by which Anubis Karos defeated the legendary Adeena Maeax. The Egyptian leapt out to a fairly strong lead, only for Adeena to surge back and it looked like it was going to be a close one..maybe even a tie-breaker deal. Then Anubis pulled ahead with another mini-surge. It was competitive, but it wasn't neck and neck for the most part.

In terms of "alignment" and mystical powers, Anubis is actually rather similiar to Jake's first round opponent in the All-Time Madness, Daegarth Mithmellon. For his part, Anubis has faced a road of true old-schoolers, duelists who know the classical styles well but may not be as used to more recent styles...something which could be construed as an advantage for Anubis, who does have experience with the old school style. However, unlike Valmion and Adeena, Jake Thrash would be accustomed to dueling styles from recent years as well. They have never met in a high-profile duel...not even in the Outback.
