Dalamar Division: Morgan le Fay vs. Jake Thrash

Post by Cassius Gaius Maximius »

First Round: Morgan defeated Tasslehofl Momus by an exact 2-1 margin, roughly translating into a 5-3 win in a duel. Morgan started off strongly, but by the end of the first night, Tass had narrowed her lead to three votes. That set the tone for the matchup: Tass kept Morgan honest, but never got in a position to actually win.

Much more closely fought was Daegarth Mithmellon vs. Jake Thrash. The word about Daegarth's TDL shutout over the orc in Season 515 seemed to have a big effect at first, with Daegarth leaping out to a surprisingly(for me) large lead...one person out and out told me that they voted for Daegarth because of the shutout. Slowly and patiently, Jake whittled away the lead before actually bringing the matter to a tie. Jake gained a brief lead only for Daegarth to retake the lead once more, only for Daegarth to be surpassed again...just in time for the voting to run out. Translated, it comes off as Daegarth taking a commanding lead in a duel, only for Jake Thrash to nickle and dime his lead away to nothing. Jake would have taken a 5-4.5 lead..only for Daegarth to score the next round..only for Jake to score again, and finally parry away a strike to secure the win. In short, a classic duel, and the only first round loss for a Top 3 seed...although as I hinted in the first round writeup, I suspected that if a Top 3 seed was going to fall in Round 1, this was where it would happen.

Past History: Tons of it, but none of it is combative; this is actually very similar in many ways to Xenograg vs. Amaltea in the first round of the Xenograg Division. These two have been very close allies for the entirety of their careers. Both made a name in TDL's early seasons as members and sometimes captains of the highly successful Champions of Avalon franchise.

"Common Links" in Challenge and Tournament Duels: N/A. Not entirely surprising, given the limited DoS careers of both individuals(Morgan a little less so than Jake, but neither exactly has reams of challenge results attached to them.)

Notable Names that were defeated by Morgan le Fay in TDL: Alyxz Taliesen, Fandral Kurgan(a.k.a. the Bishop), Jonothan Shaw, Elle McBride, Casey Shiv Blade, Drakewyn Silvertree, Tasslehofl Momus(as mentioned in the first round writeup), Athlstan, Lyon T'Gar, G'nort Dragoon Talanador, Gunthar O'Dwyer, Daelin Dragonsblade(twice), Mikeal Rheinhart, Matt Simon(shutout), Baphelocutis est Lathodascia.
