Tour de RhyDin 2010 Official Rules: Scoring

Post by DUEL Random »

SCORING

There are two types of ranking players in the 2010 Tour: Tour Points (TP), and Nobles. The former ranks overall performance, while the latter ranks discipline-specific performance. All players start with 0 TP and 0 Nobles.

Tour Points

Tour Points are awarded based on a player's placement in a given stage. The winner always receives the most, then the rest are divided into segments, as follows:

Winner: 10 TP
Runner-up: 7 TP
1st Segment: 5 TP
2nd Segment: 3 TP
3rd Segment: 1 TP

Segments are ordered by duelist performance: Regular stage segments are measured by the number of Nobles the duelist collected; Tournament and Tag Team stage segments are measured by how far the duelist/team progressed; and Brawl stage segments are measured by how many people were knocked out before the duelist.

The number of duelists in each segment is determined by dividing the number of participating duelists (not counting the winner and runner-up) by three, and then spreading the remainder from bottom to top. For example, in a stage with 9 duelists, 7/3 = 2 with a remainder of 1, so the 1st segment would be 2 duelists, the 2nd segment would be 2 duelists, and the third segment would be 3 duelists.

Participants are always guaranteed at least 1 TP. Furthermore, each character is allowed one "free" stage absence per discipline, in which case they will gain 1 TP.

In addition, as stated above, the members of the team with the most Silver Nobles at the end of each stage gain 1 Tour Point each.

Nobles

Nobles come in three different colors: Red for Swords, Green for Fists, and Blue for Magic. They are awarded based on a player's performance in the duels for each discipline, regardless of their placement in the stages.

At the end of each Regular stage, players add the number of Nobles they collected to their total Nobles of the discipline's color. For example, if a duelist collected 5 Red Nobles during a Swords Regular stage, their Red Noble total would increase by 5.

During a Tournament stage, duelists receive Nobles of the discipline's color for each win equal to the difference in scores, and lose Nobles for each loss equal to the difference in scores minus one (so losing 5-4 doesn't lose any Nobles, losing 5-3 loses 1 Noble, etc.). The number of Nobles cannot decrease below 0.

During a Brawl stage, duelists receive Nobles of the discipline's color when they knock another duelist out of the ring. The number of Nobles awarded depends on how many duelists are left in the brawl, using the same segments system as Tour Points: 5 Nobles for knocking the last duelist out, 3 nobles for knocking a duelist out during the 1st segment, 2 Nobles for knocking out a duelist during the 2nd segment, and 1 Noble for knocking out a duelist during the 3rd segment.

During a Tag Team stage duelists receive Nobles of the discipline's color for each win equal to the difference between the total points scored on each side divided by 2 and rounded down, e.g. a team that wins with 8 points scored on them receives (10-8)/2 = 1 Noble each. Each member of the losing team loses the same number of Nobles.
