Jaycy defeats Guill for Barony of Seaside

On the night of Thursday, July 30th it was my duty and privilege to officiate the challenge to Guillermus Iulius Fortis, Baron of Seaside, by former Overlord Jaycynda Ashleana.

The incumbant duele under a standard of per bend wavy, vert et orange. His Second is Wyheree Ravenlock, and his Lady of Honor is Timora Aleta (in absentia). The challenger dueled without standard. Her Second is Kheldar Drasinia, and her Lord of Honor is Leo de Lorenzo.

The Best-of-Three format was used.

Guill got off to a quick 2-0 lead in the first match, but Jaycy was never out of the running. Guill broke the 4-4 tie in Round 12 to win the first trial. Thrust was the top point-scoring move in it.

In the second pass, Guill again took a lead but was unable to hold onto it. The score stood 2.5-0.5 after 6 rounds. Jaycy then scored 4.5 unanswered points to take the match (also going 12 rounds). This match was notable for Jaycy's successful Bookend Parry combination and her Dis'ing Guill twice.

The final duel was a back-and-forth affair. Both offense and defense yielded points, and the duelists stood tied 3-3 after 6 rounds. Jaycy then fancy parried Guill's low cut in Round 7 and reciprocated with a low cut in Round 8 to win the match and the title.
