Spring WLT - Results

Post by Tormay Eludes »

Not everyone who signed up could make it, but there were plenty of last minute additions. I am startign to think that deadlines on Entry are pointless...

We had eight Warlords gather and fight to claim the prozes of the Barony of Old Temple and the Challenge to the Overlord.

A double elimintaion format was used to determine who would be the best and deserve the prizes. In the first round, we saw Guil defeat Max and Kheldar took down Ticallion, both matches were 5-4 for the final score. Jaycy defeated Anubis while Tass beat Querylon, both at a score of 5-3.

In the second round, Kheldar got a perfect shutout against Tass! In a high scoring match, Guil sent Jaycy to the loser's bracket, 6-4.5 was the score there. For the loser's bracket, Querylon sent Ticallion home in a 5-4 match. Anubis was also sent packing by Max, with 5-2 being the final count.

The round showed that Kheldar might just be on his way to winning another WLT, defeating Guil after 13 rounds with a 5-4 score. In the loser's bracket, Jaycy defeated Querylon after a 1-4 deficit, turning it into a 5-4 win! Tass stayed in it after defeated Max 5-4 as well.

The next few matches were to decide who would face Kheldar to determine the top two and the recipients of the prizes. Jaycy was sent home by Tass after the longest match in this WLT, a full 15 rounds, and the highest scoring, ending with 6.5-5.

Guil then kept Tass from the top two, with 5-4 in 10.

At this point, Guil needed two wins against Kheldar, Kheldar only needed one. Thier first match ended 5-2 in 10 rounds, Guil's favor. In the final match, which was bloody, vicious, and short, Guil took the win 5-2 again, in 5 rounds.

Congratulations to Guil, winner of the Spring Warlord Tournament, 2009!

Now, on to the prizes!

Guil, surprisingly, turned down all the prizes. Here is what he had to say:

"I must do what any honorable Warlord would do in this situation. If I wanted a Barony, I feel that the only way to earn it is to defeat the holder of it. To challenge the Overlord, I must be a Baron first. Given this, I decline to select a prize."

The pick of the prizes then fell onto Kheldar, who has selected the Barony of Old Temple. Congratualtions Kheldar on your Barony!

Tass, being third place, recieved the challenge. He also wasted no time at all in placing his challenge!
