Challenge Date and Time

Exiting the Tower
Bran put the finishing touches on his obsidian monument in the entryway of the Tower of Fire, a tradition that Etherean had started when he turned the Key over to him. Bran’s statue would be number thirteen. Rezzik, his shaman mentor, came shambling up as Bran stood looking up at his creation.
“Everything hasss been transssported to the Armory. Are you ready to go?”
Bran took one last look back into the shadowy halls of the Tower. He had struggled so hard to secure the Tower, not only to help battle the Ice Dragon Kaurm, but to increase his own skills and fulfill his Test of Strength. That had been accomplished by winning the Diamond, but still, staying in the Tower for almost a year made his depature a melancholy one.
Bran turned back to Rezzik. “Yesss, I am ready.”
Rezzik patted Bran’s shoulder once, and moved off through the door and down the path towards the dueling area and portal. Bran looked up at his statue again, then turned and shut the door behind him, before following Rezzik.

Saturday night, August 16 saw the return of the Tiny Terror, Liena Hope, challenging Bran Bale for the right to hold the Key to the Tower of Fire. A small crowd saw this rather interesting challenge that took all three duels to decide.
Duel one saw Bran start off scoring with a mind whip that caught the ghostly Liena before he scored twice more to extend his lead to 3-0 in the third round. Matching blades were traded in round four to put an end to the shut-out but Bran took the duel in five rounds, reflecting Liena's mind whip back to her to end the duel 5-1.
Duel two started off with the same spell from Bran, attacking Liena's mind before she could get the Keeper with her blades. Liena turned around and used Bran's trademark spell against him, reaching through the fog to tie it at 1 all. From here on, it became a seesaw battle with a tied round, then one or the other would pull ahead for the lead. Bran used his keeper power in round seven to no avail as Liena went to mess with his mind and she never looked back. She kept the lead to the end, winning the second match with a score of 5-3.5.
Duel three started like the rest, with Bran taking the lead with a mage bolt against Liena's artic blast. He kept the lead until round four, when she tied it up by turning ghostly against his fog. Then the seesaw battle began in earnest. Liena had a two point window by round 7 but Bran faught back, tying the score 3.5 all in round 12 by repeating round one. Liena turned pale to gain a slight lead but BRan reached out to use his claw of doom to regain the lead in round fourteen. Liena had had enough though as she flung a trio of blades at Bran to connect to shatter his shield then she moved from his mind whip to take this duel 5.5-4.5 in 16 rounds.
Congratulations to Liena as she becomes the newest Keeper of Fire and to Bran who made her work for it. It was grand challenge to those who were present.
