The Challenge match between Baron of Sea Crest, Damien Mortis, and Challenger Xavior Eric Muse was held on Monday evening in the venerable Arena. Neither the Russian, nor the Baron dueled with colors or ladies of honor. This was a match between the two and no others.

Damien elected a single elimination match for the challenge, and both men entered the ring at 9:00 PM EDT.

The match pitted Damien and his blade Plague against Xeric and his blade Ivan in a see-saw match. In the end though, it was the Baron who claimed the victory, and the right to retain his ring and Sea Side.

Challenge Ring 1 round 1: The baron uses Plague in a very fancy circular parry as Xeric does a simple stop hit. Both are well executed, but no one attacked.
Challenge Ring 1 Round 2: Damien's blade arcs high, catching Xeric's shoulder, but Xeric sends Ivan low and cuts into Damien's thigh! Blood all around to make up for the first round. Tied 1 all
Challenge Ring 1 Round 3: Baron Damien does a fancy sidestep, but the timing was erroneous as Xeric reversed Ivan for the return high cut. 2-1 Xeric leads.
Challenge Ring 1 Round 4: Damien arcs Plague into a stop hit, and Xeric circular parries. No joy. 2-1 Xeric
Challenge 1 Round 5: The Baron does the unexpected! He fancily disses Xeric, whose thrust missed the wiley Baron. Damien ties it up 2 all.
Challenge 1 Round 6: Damien's low cut is denied by Xeric's very fancy circular parry for the stylish point. 3-2 Xeric retakes the lead.
Challenge 1 Round 7: Damien and Plague do a very fancy quack, dropping low and gaining a full style point as Xeric's fancy lateral parry is for naught. Tied 3 all after 7
Challenge 1 Round 8: Damien sends plague in a direct thrust, connecting with Xeric's chest most soundly. Xeric's low cut goes wide and Damien takes the lead, 4-3
Challenge 1 Round 9: Baron Damien uses Plague in a very fancy and very effective lateral parry, one that not only denies Xeric's thrust with Ivan, but secures the style point, as well as the win. Baron Damien retains SeaSide.
