...Are once again upon us.
There's a few, well, let's just say less than stellar candidates who are throwing their hats into the ring, and once more, as I am entering this election, I am probably the best candidate for the job.
I encourage a couple more duelists to get their chance to become Governor, if so desired, so that I might have some competition in this race who may not treat the entire elective process as a joke, or as a way to mask their dark and evil ways with an office of respectability.
I am the best candidate for the job, right now. I encourage everyone here to vote for me if no other duelists rise to the challenge. I will be stating my political platform soon enough to discuss issues within the city of Rhydin, if anyone would be interested.
So please, don't let me be the only respectable representative attempting to win the Governors Office.
Vote for G or Vote None of the Above.

Christmas Campaigning
Shortly before dawn upon Christmas morning the entire Templar infantry regiment, including the newer recruits, left the Templar Headquarters and spread throughout the city.
At the door of every commoner's home was left a simple meal of bread, cheese and wine, wrapped in a red cloth bearing the white Maltese Cross of the Templars. In homes were children were known to live; small, hand-carved wooden horses with knights riding upon them (enough so that each child could have one) were also left.
Karen and her squire, accompanied by those Knights known to play musical instruments (as Karen herself was known to), went to the Orphanage. Also accompanying them was the kitchen staff of the Order. Thus, when the children awoke, they were greeted with a fine meal of wheatcakes, fine syrup, fresh fruit (imported from another world) and Christmas music.
Later that day an elite calvary unit arrived at the Orphanage and put on a show of trick riding. They also delivered hand-carved wooden horses with knights riding upon them for the children, once the show was over.
By then, a few Bards and Storytellers had arrived to regale the children with stories of adventure and derring-do... and, Karen made sure, the story of Jesus' birth.
No press release was issued... no reporters were notified. Templar Knights on their patrols of the city would only smile and say that it must have been a Christmas miracle... though if told that some child or other had not received a toy, each Knight carried a dozen or so in their saddlebags and would hand them out so that no child might do without.

Piano Lesson Canvassing
Upon his return from fighting a two-year legal battle in his home city, Jacques leCitadin returned to his flat in RhyDin to find it ransacked.
Since RhyDin would now be his permanent home (he had lost the battle), he decided to become active in RhyDin's politics (even though that had gotten him into some trouble back home).
Being penniless after this robbery, he found employment at the library, applied for a post at the Arcanum Academy and became a musical tutor to the children of many of his neighbors. He had been at this for nigh half a year before the gubernatorial race began, and decided to cash in on the ties he'd begun to build on his block. As well as instructing their children, he began to instruct them, whether after lessons or at communal holiday events or at Ms. Abel's wedding reception, about the importance of Law and Order, often citing his own situation (RhyDin had yet to address the robbery, which was a year old by the time he had returned) and pointing out the merits of Lady Wilder and the Knights-Templar.
Of course, he never failed to mention that central authority relied on an efficient system of revenue collection, and that a import tarriffs would be a fine measure, etc., etc.
