Challenge to the Overlord
::Posted on the corkboard on what appeared to be a piece of ivy-themed wallpaper::
As a Renegade Baroness I hereby challenge Johnathan Havoick for the Overlord's mantle. We have a score to settle and this seems as good a way to do it as any.

I hope this challenge is some sort of silliness between a married couple, and then again I hope it is not. Because the titles of Swords should not be the props for a domestic dispute. A title holder who was given a challenge grant by another title holder than turns around and challenges that same grant giver is one of the worst betrayals in the history of this sport to preform. Then again I have to wonder about conflicts of interest and conspiricy too as to whether the Overlord is somehow looking to be rid of the title and his wife is seeking the prize for herself so they came up with this plan so she could end up as Overlord so he could be rid of it.
There should be some sort of rule about signfigant others being able to challenge their signficant other title holder. I BEG the Baron's Council and the administrators of Swords to step into this matter immediately for this does not bode well on many fronts.
Ms Quinn,
While my associates of RED were not thrilled when you challenged Baphelocutis for your current title, you have up till this point carried the title rather well all things considered.
Forget the fact the man is your husband, he is the dueler who gave you your chance to take the title away from Baphelocutis. Whatever your domestic dispute I ask you humbly not to use the titles of Swords in whatever domestic issues you too have in this manner.

To the RED Coalition,
The right to challenge is something I do happen to take seriously. I have greatly enjoyed my tenure in Old Market, but I do not believe it is an offense to challenge my husband for his title even after the giving of his grant. I am not challenging my husband because I think him a bad Overlord or unworthy of the position. I am challenging him because it pleases me to do so and I sincerely doubt it will displease Cory for me to do so.
Chris Graziano challenged the Baroness Topaz because he viewed her as being "the best". It was a move of respect and not one of malice. There are some things riding on this challenge, but mostly I am trying to teach a lesson to someone about not being afraid to challenge no matter who the titleholder is.
As for signs of a conspiracy, perhaps you should speak to my husband about that because I don't know of anything currently in the works. I am actually greatly looking forward to seeing his response to my challenge.
I do, however, thank the RED Coalition for their concern for the well-being of my husband and his honor.

Tonight, at 9PM, the Baroness of Old Market challenged the tri-defended Overlord. Anjolie Quinn dueled under the Golden Sun Flag, and the child Hochi was her Lord of Honor. Cory Havoick dueled under no flag, and did not take a Lady. Interesting to note for those who enjoy gossip is that these two duelists are married, and neither took the other "In Honor".
The duel progressed quickly, with a few spectators, and Cory using a single duel format, after finally declining a Test of Worthiness. Anjolie Quinn stole the first two points quickly, and though Cory did manage to strike her once, it was the Baronness of Old Market that ran away with the duel. After 9 rounds, Anjolie Quinn becomes the new Overlady of the Arenas with a 5-1 win!
Congratulations to Cory Havoick for defending his title an impressive three times. After some bantering back-and-forth after the match, Cory goes "renegade" as the new Baron of Old Market.
Anjolie temporarily abstained from announcing her Overlord Grant recipient, and had no message for the current Baronial Council. No other Barons were present to announce their alignment to the new Overlady.
Congratulations, Anjolie, for a very impressive spectacle, and your new title!
[OOC] ROUND BREAKDOWN, A LA LOG:
Round One: As suspected. (TH/LC, 1-0 Anjolie)
Round Two: Things get slightly awkward between the two. (FDUx2, 1-0 Anjolie)
Round Three: Cory's shine is lacking luster. (TH/HC, 2-0 Anjolie)
Round Four: They seem to be reading each other's thoughts. (LCx2, 2-0 Anjolie)
Round Five: Cory gets on the board, getting underneath Anjolie Quinn's cut. (FDU/HC, 2-1 Anjolie)
Round Six. They keep on the move, but neither can gain positioning. (FSS/FDU, 2-1 Anjolie)
Round Seven. Quinn breaks open her lead with a timely step. (FSS/TH, 3-1 Anjolie)
Round Eight. *winces* (HC/FCP, 4-1 Anjolie)
Round Nine.... and it ends ugly. (LC/FSS, Final: Anjolie Quinn defeats Cory Havoick 5-1 in nine rounds. Anjolie Quinn is the new Overlady.)
