TdR Regular Stage Bracket Breakdown

Post by Random McChanse »

As many of you have probably noticed, the "25%" brackets in the regular stage standings do not contain an equal number of duelists. This is because the number of duelists often is not evenly divisible by 4.

Therefore, for those of you who are wondering how I deal with the inequality, it would be best to give an example.

Say there are 19 duelists (as in Stage 2). There is 1 winner, and 4 1-duel duelists. The winner has his/her own bracket, and the 1-duel duelists automatically get 1 point, so they are not included in the division. Therefore, we have to split 14 duelists 4 ways. So first, I divide the 14 into 4 groups of 3, with two left over. Then, working from the bottom, I add one position per bracket, thus making two groups of 3 and two groups of 4. The lower brackets are added to first to make the higher brackets more select. Therefore, in this case, 2-4th are in the top bracket, 5-7th in the 2nd bracket, 8-11th in the 3rd, and 12-14th in the bottom bracket.
Don't underestimate me, for when I'm working I'm super shiny and sit on a post.

And I walk on ceilings, so try to mess with that, fool.
